As the customer service manager, I prioritize finding applicants who demonstrate strong communication skills, they should be able to express themselves clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally. Empathy is essential, as it enables them to genuinely connect with customers and understand their needs and frustrations. I look for quick thinkers with solid problem-solving abilities who can tackle issues effectively and keep things moving smoothly. Adaptability is another key trait, as customer service often involves handling a variety of situations that require a flexible approach. A customer-focused mindset is also important; every team member should be committed to ensuring a positive experience and aiming to exceed customer expectations whenever possible.
