As we step into 2025, we’re taking a moment to reflect on some impressive sustainability milestones from last year. At The Deerstone, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s at the core of everything we do. From the eco-conscious design of our accommodations and meeting spaces to the farm-to-fork principles guiding our onsite catering, we strive to be leaders in eco-luxury. But actions speak louder than words. In 2024, we were thrilled to see the tangible impact of our efforts as illustrated in the below graphic. Looking ahead, we’re excited about our next big step: introducing a wind turbine to further reduce our energy usage and contribute even more to the grid. This is just one of the ways we’re committed to pushing the boundaries of sustainable hospitality. Thank you to everyone who has supported our mission so far. Job Update: Thrilled to the sky and back to announce that I will be Jan 1st, 2025 extending my responsibilities within J.L. For some time Sustainability has been growing in my interest, both privately and professional. Such a honour now to take up the overall company Sustainability work and journey for J.L. We have a lot of work to do, it has started already and now we will increase speed, achievements and focus. One of the very first things on the agenda, reduce our return rate in E-com to lower CO2 emission. No point looking back, but I strongly believe we need to change many of our behaviours going forward. The way we do E-Com shopping (and returns) is just one out of many.
