On May 8, 2024, the Grid Deployment Office released a preliminary list of potential National Interest Electric Transmission Corridors. The preliminary list initiates Phase 2 of the process that DOE plans to follow to designate NIETCs. NIETC designation unlocks valuable federal financing and permitting tools to spur construction of transmission projects within a NIETC to alleviate the consumer harms. The preliminary list identifies which potential NIETCs DOE is continuing to consider; provides maps with rough approximation of boundaries; provides high-level explanation of the basis for potential NIETCs; and opens a 45-day public comment period on potential NIETCs. https://lnkd.in/eUwr_Nk8

Compact GIS GIS stations are more widespread in the electrical network than AIS stations due to the many advantages of ease of installation, shorter installation time period, and complete safety for workers during installation, maintenance, and operation, as well as lower maintenance rates and time, in addition, of course, to the small area of the station. With all this, ABB invented a new technology, which is the Compact Gis transformer station The compressed station has a voltage of 400 kV and its size is 33% less than a similar station (the same number of transformers and circuits), which reduces the volume of SF6 gas by 40%. It contains the operating box and protective devices all at once, in addition to shipping the station in one container and easy installation.
