They’re a natural part of life, a reminder of how our bodies grow, adapt, and change.  Whether they’re from growth spurts, pregnancy, weight changes, or just genetics, stretch marks tell a story. They’re proof of resilience, transformation, and life’s journey.  To anyone who feels insecure about theirs: you are not alone, and you are *enough*. Stretch marks don’t diminish your beauty or worth—they’re simply a part of being human.  Let’s celebrate our bodies for what they’ve done for us, not pick them apart for the marks they carry. Becoming a teenage mother is challenging, particularly in a cultural context where there is a tendency to blame girls for the situation they find themselves in. Teenage mothers are often not allowed to continue schooling, and their access to work is limited. Today, on mother's day in Timor-Leste, we would like to recognise these young mothers and re-share some research we did into the driving factors of Teenage Pregnancy a few years back. And we know there are many in our community who have valuable insight and experience in this area. So, we're asking you to help open up conversations by asking and answering each other's questions about pregnancy and baby loss in the workplace. We are incredibly grateful to Conceive, coach Katie and coach Holly for inviting us to speak with expecting mothers in their 3rd trimester. It was a wonderful opportunity to discuss the reality of postpartum and the challenges new mothers face and how to navigate them effectively. During our session, we addressed four difficulties that most mothers will encounter after childbirth: 1. 💤 Postpartum Fatigue: Understanding the importance of rest and self-care during this demanding period. 2. 🌟 The Myth of the Perfect Mother and Mother's Guilt: Debunking unrealistic expectations and focusing on our own values and strengths as parents. 3. 💪 The Pressure of Bouncing Back: Emphasizing the need for a realistic and gentle approach to postpartum recovery. 4. 🏠 Feeling Isolated: Strategies for building a support system and asking for help.
