The intriguing combination of data, art, and social history. I have been eager to do a data project connected with art for a while and was very excited to have found the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) Collection dataset. This dataset has already been thoroughly explored since its publication. However, it was interesting to connect it to oh-so-relevant issues of social policy, migration in particular. To no surprise, my interpretation of the data suggests the great significance of immigrants' contribution to modern art, which applies to many other fields. #MoMA #dataart #artdata

Exploring the Titanic Dataset: Unveiling Survival Factors Through Socio-Demographics - 2nd Project at CodexCue I'm excited to share insights from my recent exploratory data analysis (EDA) on the Titanic dataset! 🚢📊 This fascinating project allowed me to dive deep into the socio-demographic factors influencing passenger survival rates, offering a nuanced perspective on this historic tragedy. Key Findings: 1. Class Matters: Passengers in first class had a significantly higher chance of survival compared to those in lower classes. 2. Fare Insights:Higher fares were associated with better survival rates, highlighting economic disparities even in life-and-death situations. 3. Gender Dynamics: Females had a notably higher survival rate, reflecting the "women and children first" principle often followed in maritime disasters. 4. Family Size:Those with a moderate number of family members aboard had a better chance of surviving, suggesting the potential benefits of mutual support during the evacuation process. Additionally, I'm pleased to report that the dataset was exceptionally clean, with no missing values, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our findings. Understanding these patterns can help inform better decision-making in crisis management and safety protocols. What a great example of the power of data visualization from my last visit in Museum of Amber in Gdansk. 😊 On the right side you see the description of sand composition during different eras and on the left you see the visualization. It could be boring lines of text, but with the actual sand it became so much more interesting, everybody was looking at it. 👀 #data #visualization #psychology

🌐 Exploring the intricacies of spatial statistics: Covariogram vs. Variogram! 📊 In the realm of spatial statistics, understanding the nuances between covariograms and variograms is key to unlocking deeper insights into spatial relationships. While both measure spatial dependence, they offer distinct perspectives and applications. Covariograms focus on the covariance between pairs of spatial locations, providing insights into the level of association or similarity between them. On the other hand, variograms delve into the variance of the differences between pairs of spatial values at varying distances, offering valuable information about spatial variability and patterns. The relevance of covariograms and variograms in spatial statistics cannot be overstated. They serve as fundamental tools for characterizing spatial dependence, guiding decisions in fields like environmental science, geostatistics, and Public Health. From modeling spatial processes to predicting spatial phenomena, covariograms and variograms empower researchers to make informed decisions and uncover hidden spatial patterns. 🌟 #spatialStatistics #SpatialAnalysis #Geostatistics #DataInsights #GISResearch 🚀

Last week, the Museum Data Service was launched! 🖼️🍾 This ambitious initiative, funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), will bring together over 100 million object records from 1,750 accredited museums and other collections across the UK, unlocking an invaluable resource for researchers, educators, curators, and content developers. The MDS, a collaboration between Art UK, Collections Trust, and the University of Leicester, represents the realisation of a vision first conceived over a century ago... In 1888, curators proposed the idea of a “compendious index” to document the contents of museums nationwide. Over 100 years later, this vision has been realised through digital innovation, overcoming the historical challenges of disparate and often inaccessible offline databases. Launched on Thursday 12 September, with an initial collection of 3,129,798 records from 21 museums, and with another 1,951,719 records already in the pipeline, the MDS is set to revolutionise the way museum data is managed and accessed. By creating a single, unified platform, the MDS enables museums to easily upload and securely manage their object records, whilst making it easy for users to search and retrieve records across multiple collections and diverse databases. This service is designed to be accessible for all museums, regardless of size, providing an inclusive and sustainable way to share and preserve the UK’s cultural heritage. #CitizensOfChange | #MuseumDataService
