So what I will do I will take here switch. Because we are going to configure the DHCP server in the switch. OK, and what I will do, I can take some clients. Let me take this one as a client. We are going to give the IP to the server from the DSP. OK, what we can save, we can we can say like we are giving the IP to the router from the switch in this lab. So how it is giving means? Here in the switch WW1 we are going to configure the DSP server. So this switch is going to give the IP to this router. We will configure this router as a DSP client. So they will get the IP. OK, so let me connect here. I will click here. I will click. So I get the if you see. Switch interface E zero by zero is connected to router F0 by zero. Now let me connect the. Interface of the switch to the router. So by seeing this one you can easily figure out which port is connecting where. Let me connect now here also the same thing what we are doing. All the routers I power on and I power on the layer 3 switch. I will take the CLI that is a console of the switch. Now what we will do here? I can configure the DSP. You can configure the DHCP server here. So I will write ipcp pool. I will create for VLAN 1. So I am giving. Here we learn 1 you can give any name here you can give ABC or anything. But I am creating this DHCP pool for VLAN 1. So I will write here VLAN one don't give you space. It will not take unit to put some name here. So I'm putting VLAN one OK. After that what we will write we need to define the network, what network you want to give, put that one ninety 21681.0 and give you space right 255.255.0. And what default gateway unit to give right that one here. OK so I'm giving default gateway will be one ninety 21681.1. This way I configure the DSP server where here in the layer 3 switch. And after that what I will do I will take here the CLI of the router. R1R2R3 I will take all the routers CLI. OK. After that if you see here in the router, this is the R1. So I will do some configuration here. I will go to the interface this one F0 by zero. I will write here interface F0 by zero. I will write here IPDP OK IP address DHCP I will write like this and press enter. I will go to other router also. Here I will go in the privileged mode, then global configuration mode. I will write here interface F0 by zero and I will write IP address DSP server. And no shut, don't forget to write no shirt here. I write no shirt. I forget to write no shirt. So you need to write no shirt. Same thing I will do R3R3 router here. I will go to the global configuration mode. I will write here. No need to change the host name here. In configuration no CDP run because here switch is having half duplex, router is having full duplex that's why we are getting this issue. So just what I've done here, I done the number CDP run so you will not get this one. Or you need to what you need to do, you need to make both duplex will be same router and switch all interface duplex should be same. So that is up to you which you want to do. But now we are not doing our lab. We are not doing this lab for that purpose. So for that purpose what I am doing I am disabling the CDP. So I disable the CDP here. Now we can check. Here. In the what we can say. In the router we configure let me show show IP interface brief and see here we enable here the IP should be from the DSP. So what we are doing here, this is actually this is a layer 3 switch but I'm using as a layer two only. I did not put here IP routing anything. I did not enable the layer 3 feature in this switch. Actually this is a layer 3 switch, but I did not enable the layer 3 feature in this switch, just what I done. Just I configure here DSP server commands. You can see here. I told IPDP pool Whelan one this one you can give any name, I wrote here VLAN one. But you can give any name and network whatever the network and subnet mask you want to give and the default gateway and this gateway what I give, I created the VLAN one, we have already VLAN 1. So I put that in the interface under that VLAN interface VLAN one I assigned that IP. After that used to get the IP here from the DSP server. What configuration I done here? I go under this interface and I write. IP address, DSP, no shirt, That's all. So we can say this is a layer 2 switch give the IP. So now you need to remember we can configure the DHCP server in layer 2 switch also. But generally we are not using in the company these in lab purpose you can do this configuration but in real environment we are using. Dedicated DSP server or if the company is small, we are configuring on the router not on the layer 2 switch.
