TOPCon modules can be manufactured with the same equipment as P-Type modules, and they demonstrate higher efficiencies, lower power degradation, better performance in low light conditions, and improved resistance to extreme weather. PVCELLTECH starts! ☀☀ This Tuesday and Wednesday we discuss our bright PV future, which will enter an annual TW market in 2026. Market, policy, technology and local production. Here are some facts: 1) PV is growing exponentially and the growth will continue. From 2026 we will face an annual TW market. 2) We are entering a bifacial n-type era: TOPCon will be the next big thing from 2024 onwards. 3) The reduction of rare elements in n-type technology is key. Cu metallisation will play an important role in the future. 4) There are two options for TOPCon upgrades. "Double-sided poly" or XBC. XBC is gradually being favoured as an option by some leading companies such as LONGi, AIKO and Tongwei.     5) Local production will become important to avoid creating dependencies for future energy supply. It is clear to everyone that electricity from photovoltaics must be generated in a decentralised manner - the days of Desertec, when large companies wanted to maintain dominance, generate electricity in Morocco and transport it to the EU, are over. Now we also need to understand that the production of PV components must also be localised. In China, India, the USA, LATAM, the EU, Australia and MENA. The technology is now a given because PV is already king. n-type bifacial systems are becoming emperors. TOPCon, HJT and XBC. We are all n-type friends. Developed by scientists in Germany, the triple-junction cell is based on a perovskite top cell with an energy bandgap of 1.84 eV, a perovskite middle cell with bandgap of 1.52 eV, and a silicon bottom cell with a bandgap of 1.1 eV. The device achieved an open-circuit voltage of 2.84 V, a short-circuit current of 11.6 mA cm–2, and a fill factor of 74%. #solarenergy #india #sustainability

LONGi has launched its Hi-Mo X6 Max series solar panel, featuring the new standardized M11 wafer size of 182.2 × 191.6 mm, which was agreed upon by six manufacturers in 2023. The new rectangular wafer has a diagonal of 262.5 mm and will be used for 72-cell panels. The Hi-Mo X6 Max module measures 2,382 × 1,134 mm, making it about 4 inches longer than the previous modules using M10 wafers.
