It’s not often I get the chance to enjoy such interesting conversation where it challenges the me to understand the “why” behind my behaviour, reactions etc but this question was a banger 🔥 Anyone who knows me would trll you I don’t have quitting or failure in my vocabulary and frame failure as leaning due to failure only occurring if I stop and I would rather die than quit! Setting expectations for your employees from the get go is the greatest gift you can give yourself when launching a business. It will save you the headache of trying to correct mistakes and having to let people go down the line. But how do you know what the threshold is? How will you know what’s achievable in each position if you didn’t experience it yourself first? That’s why I’m a huge advocate for living in every role of the company. So when you know it takes 20 minutes to properly spray a home and someone tries to get away with 5 or wanders around for 40, you know better.
