Neutron Star Systems’ Post

Strategic Alliance for Autonomous and Agile Space Mobility Solutions Neutron Star Systems signs MoU with Scout Space to co-develop solutions for space situational awareness Munich, 30.04.2024 – Neutron Star Systems and Scout Space announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on pioneering solutions aimed at advancing space situational awareness (SSA) and space domain awareness (SDA). Leveraging Scout’s cutting-edge software and algorithms alongside Neutron Star Systems’ innovative multimode hybrid chemical/electric propulsion systems, the partnership seeks to revolutionize the space domain. Drawing on their respective expertise, both companies have developed groundbreaking solutions for space mobility and SSA. Both companies have been awarded under the Orbital Prime program STTR grants for developing SSA solutions for the U.S. Space Force. Scout is a leading in-space SDA service provider focused on autonomous space intelligence and security. The company’s optical payload systems and algorithms enable satellites to see and understand their surroundings and act autonomously while on orbit. “Working with one of the leading companies in space situational awareness is a huge step for NSS. Combining the software and algorithms of Scout and the powerful SUPREME technology will be a big leap forward for SSA and SDA”, said NSS’ CEO, Manuel La Rosa Betancourt. NSS develops advanced electric space mobility solutions utilizing an Applied-Field Magnetoplasmadynamic (AF-MPD) propulsion system, integrated with HTS technologies known as SUPREME™. This technology maximizes payload capacity and facilitates multi-mode propulsion for both high specific impulse and high thrust maneuvers. Moreover, it enables optimized maneuverability, enabling a wide range of operations such as collision avoidance, proximity maneuvers, rendezvous operations, and orbit transfers for satellite servicing, making it the ideal thruster for SSA. The strategic partnership aims to address the challenges posed by space debris in the areas of SSA and SDA by integrating a set of disruptive technologies combining AI hardware and software.
