Read on… ✓ Gift your treasures 📦 As you sort through things: 📦Make a box or bag for each person in your family and put things you’d like to give them in the box. For family living out of town: 📷Take a picture of the item and ask if they have any interest. 🎁If not, consider making a donation and bless someone in need. ⭐Remember, although something is a treasure to you, your children may not feel the same way. Giving in the USA has been a focal point in early December for many years now. It’s such a great opportunity to take the gratitude we just celebrated during Thanksgiving and turn it into action—through charitable giving and acts of kindness. While inspired by the same spirit, Colorado Gives Day actually predates the National Day of Giving. It’s a special opportunity to focus our generosity on organizations that serve Colorado communities. The post I’m sharing below is from Thrive - Transformation at Work, an organization I’ve been involved with for years. Instead of summarizing our mission here, I encourage you to explore the Thrive website and discover the incredible work we do. What I can confidently share is why I’ve chosen to devote so much of my life to Thrive. Thrive helps people in difficult, messy life situations regain dignity and hope. Through meaningful employment and career development, we empower individuals to rebuild their lives. Thrive stands out because of our incredibly committed volunteer coaches. They walk alongside members, not just helping them find jobs but guiding them toward meaningful career paths. The relationships forged during these shared experiences often last well beyond the first job offer. I began my journey with Thrive as a volunteer coach. I soon became involved in the Intentional Employer Network, a group that connects business leaders with a heart for providing opportunities to overlooked and marginalized individuals. Today, I’m honored to serve on the Board of Directors. As Colorado Gives Day approaches, I have two asks: 1) Give generously to an organization that resonates with you. In a world filled with constant challenges, acts of mercy and kindness remind us that light always overcomes darkness. And that light has the power to transform lives, including our own. 2) Visit Thrive’s website. Read the inspiring stories of hope and transformation. Look for the story of a former member whose life was profoundly changed and who now serves as a key member of the Thrive staff. Finally, if you feel drawn to Thrive’s mission, consider getting involved. That could mean supporting us financially, volunteering as a coach, or just spreading the word. Or maybe you know someone in a tough situation—someone who’s lost hope and could use help taking that first step. Thrive is here for them. If you’ve gotten this far, thank you! I encourage you to take an easier next step: visit Thrive’s website, read our stories, and consider how you might partner with us in making a difference.
Colorado Gives Day is on December 10th! Early giving has already started, and you can give today! This year, we have an exciting opportunity to amplify your generosity: A generous donor has pledged $10,000 and is challenging our Thrive community to join him in supporting a program that changes lives. When individuals gain the confidence and skills to overcome barriers and secure employment, hope is renewed, dignity is restored, and lives are transformed. Here’s how you can make an even bigger impact: - New monthly donations are matched up to $100 from now until December 10th. - Every donation receives a boost from the Colorado Gives Day Incentive Fund, maximizing your contribution! What does a $20 donor get in return for their donation? A lot of people believe that you need to offer something material in return. Like: 1. A box of cookies 2. A raffle ticket 3. A coffee mug 4. A tax refund The truth is, if you make the donation about getting something in return, it will end there. Instead, if what you get in return is: 1. A feeling of helping someone you love 2. A deeper relationship with the person who asked you 3. Changing someone's life for the better 4. You’ll want to give again and again.

When was the last time you optimised your donation form? With Giving Tuesday only 3 weeks away, it's time to have a look at it again. - Which story will you share this year? - When was the last time you updated the visuals to reflect your current activities/focus? - Maybe it's time to revise the suggested/preferred amounts? Do they still make sense and reflect the types of work you're currently doing? Do you have examples of what each amount represents for your non-profit? (Pro Tip - I recommend having the highest suggested amount first and then the lower one below) If you're using Donorbox, my recommended platform, you're covered on the tech side but you still need to make sure your donors are getting the information they need to make an advised decision. It should feel like an invitation to support you, an exclusive opportunity to be part of something special. When was the last time you revised your donation page? 🔔Follow for more fundraising tips to enhance your non-profit's impact and connect meaningfully with donors. 👋Hi, I'm Sabine.
