Fantastic! Walk-in clinic model for Addiction services at Corewell Health West- Early access, stigma reduction, decrease in morbidity and mortality, naloxone co-prescribing, same day induction for MAT, payor agnostic and yet financially sustainable. It’s game changer and should be the template for all addiction and behavioral health services! Value based care is the way to go.
Thank you to the American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM) for inviting myself and Daniel Wicklund DNPc, RN, CARN to speak about our low barrier nurse-led walk in model for Addiction Medicine. The opportunity to speak at a national platform such as #PM2024 has been an incredible opportunity to demonstrate how utilizing nurses at the top of their licenses, telemedicine technology, and community partnerships have allowed us to welcome over 1,000 people into our walk-in Addiction Speciality clinics in just the last 2 years. This model of same day access to Addiction Speciality care not only decreases expensive Emergency Department visits and hospitalizations- but most importantly it saves lives!
