This video that provides a glimpse of the size of wind turbine blades. The proposed offshore wind projects for the Central Coast of California, are slated to use turbine blades 350 feet in length or a diameter of over 700 feet. The speed at the end of the blades can reach up to 170 mph, which is deadly to soaring birds such as Albatross, Pelicans, Terns, Shearwater and Gulls.
