New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists’ Post

Limonene is a monoterpene that exists in two enantiomers: D-Limonene and L-Limonene! This means the two isomers have the same chemical structure, just different orientations. The two enantiomers have very different scents, but both are commonly used in fragrance applications in the cosmetic and personal care industry. The most common distillation method for extracting limonene is through steam distillation, due to the oil not being soluble in water. #Limonene #fragrance #nyscc
