NZQA Deputy Chief Executive Assessment, Jann Marshall extends her best wishes to all students ahead of NCEA and New Zealand Scholarship exams, which start tomorrow morning. “I encourage all students to give it your best effort. These exams are the last step before you can enjoy a well-deserved summer break,” says Jann Marshall. “I congratulate students for their hard work and dedication through the year and encourage them to seek support if they feel overwhelmed by the pressure. While it’s important to stay focused on your studies, remember to take breaks for exercise, rest, and relaxation,” Jann Marshall adds. Exams end on the morning of Friday 29 November 2024, with around 144,500 students participating in 121 NCEA and New Zealand Scholarship exam sessions. “More than 97,000 students are entered to sit some NCEA or NZ Scholarship exams online,” Jann Marshall says. 📢 Ensure AEIS Registration Success with Valid CEQ Results 🇸🇬📚 Are you preparing your child for the Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS) in Singapore? Understanding the requirements for Cambridge English Qualifications (CEQ) results is crucial for a smooth registration process. ✏️ Key Requirement to Note: While CEQ certificates—such as A2 Key for Schools (KET) and B1 Preliminary for Schools (PET)—are valid for life, Singapore’s Ministry of Education (MOE) requires results to be within 12 months of AEIS registration. 📅 Example Timeline: For AEIS registration in July 2026, the CEQ exam must be taken between July 2025 and July 2026. Earlier results, even with lifelong validity, won’t be accepted for AEIS purposes. 🚫 Steps to Stay on Track: ✔️ Plan Early: Schedule exams 3–6 months before registration to allow for preparation and processing. ✔️ Verify Dates: Confirm your test date falls within the 12-month window. ✔️ Keep Records Ready: Save your Statement of Results for submission. 📄 ✔️ Stay Updated: Visit the MOE AEIS website regularly for any updates. 🌐 Set Your Child Up for Academic Success! By meeting MOE’s requirements, you can secure your child’s placement and ensure they’re prepared for Singapore’s academic challenges. 🎓 🔗 Learn more by visiting the EXAM.SG page today.

What is the difference between CIE and CAIE? The terms CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) and CAIE (Cambridge Assessment International Education) refer to the same organization but reflect a rebranding effort. CIE (Cambridge International Examinations): This was the original name of the organization responsible for offering international qualifications, including the Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International A-Levels. CIE was well-known globally for providing high-quality educational assessments and qualifications. CAIE (Cambridge Assessment International Education): This is the current name of the organization, reflecting a rebranding that took place to emphasize the broader scope of their educational services and assessment beyond just examinations. CAIE still offers the same qualifications, such as Cambridge IGCSE and A-Levels, but the new name highlights their role in providing comprehensive educational support, resources, and assessments. In summary, CAIE is the updated name for the organization previously known as CIE, with a broader emphasis on education and assessment services beyond just exams. Many schools in countries world-wide offer A-Levels through international cross-border exam boards, which include Cambridge International Education (CIE), Pearson Edexcel, and OxfordAQA. IGCSE stands for “International General Certificate of Secondary Education”. It is equivalent to the GCSE qualification which is taken by students in Year 10 – 11 in the UK to prepare them for further pre-university level study, such as A-levels. Passing grades for Cambridge International AS & A Levels are E (equivalent to a US letter grade of 'C') or higher. Unlike US systems, there is no letter grade to designate a failure (no 'F' equivalent). If a student does not pass, they simply do not receive a grade, and their exam result appears as 'ungraded. #Education #InternationalEducation #CambridgeExams #CIE #CAIE #IGCSE #Alevels #EducationalAssessment #StudentSuccess #Learning
