Plan Timeline: Create a realistic renovation schedule in collaboration with your contractor, outlining each phase from demolition to completion. Expect possible delays due to weather or supply shortages, and build a buffer into your timeline to minimize stress and keep the project on track. Choose Quality Materials: Invest in high-quality materials that enhance both aesthetics and durability. Opt for durable flooring, countertops, fixtures, and appliances that withstand daily use. Consider timeless design elements to appeal to potential buyers if renovating for resale. While quality materials may incur initial costs, they ultimately reduce maintenance and replacement expenses in the long run. Engineered wood flooring makes up about 30% of all wood flooring purchased in the U.S. today. Most planks come with a factory finish that keeps them in great shape for years, making them both durable and cost-effective. Plus, engineered wood can be installed in areas where traditional wood often can’t, like directly over concrete slabs or in basements. Budget-conscious homeowners can explore our inventory from the comfort of their homes and see how these floors would look in their rooms with the help of our Mobile Flooring Showroom® and Design Associates. While hardwood is often the go-to for an attractive wood grain pattern, there are other options and benefits worth considering. If you need to stick to a budget, more economical choices are available. We carry engineered wood flooring from top brands, aiming to exceed your expectations with every flooring style you choose. Rest easy knowing your floors are of the highest quality, as each engineered wood style offers unique attributes, making these versatile and customizable floors a favorite among homeowners. #EngineeredWood #FlooringTrends #HomeImprovement #DurableFloors #CostEffective #MobileShowroom #InteriorDesign #FlooringOptions #HomeRenovation #QualityFlooring

3 flooring mistakes that can ruin your project (and how to avoid them) Flooring is the foundation of every space—literally! But with so many options out there, it’s easy to make mistakes. Here are three common pitfalls to watch out for when selecting flooring for your next project: 🚩 Mistake #1: Choosing Style Over Durability It’s tempting to pick flooring based solely on its look, but if it doesn’t fit the lifestyle of the space, it won’t hold up. A stunning floor that scratches or wears too easily will leave clients frustrated. Pro Tip: Balance design with performance. For high-traffic spaces, opt for durable options like laminate or SPC flooring that look great and last. 🚩 Mistake #2: Overlooking Installation Needs Some floors require specialized installation, while others, like those with 5G locking systems, make it simple. Choosing a product without considering the installation process can lead to delays or unexpected costs. Pro Tip: Coordinate with your team to pick flooring that aligns with the project timeline and installation capabilities. 🚩 Mistake #3: Forgetting About Maintenance A floor might look beautiful in the showroom, but how will it hold up over time? High-maintenance floors may not be practical for busy households or commercial spaces. Pro Tip: Consider low-maintenance options, like water-resistant laminate or vinyl plank, for busy areas where ease of care is essential. Flooring is more than just a surface—it’s the foundation of your project’s success! Avoid these common mistakes and find the perfect flooring for your clients. SPC vs. LVT/LVP Flooring: SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) and LVT/LVP (Luxury Vinyl Tile/Plank) are both types of vinyl flooring, but they have some distinct differences: SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) Core Composition: SPC flooring has a core made from a combination of limestone and stabilizers. This makes it denser, more rigid, and more durable. Durability: The rigid core makes SPC more resistant to impacts, heavy furniture, and other potential damage. Stability: SPC is less likely to expand or contract with changes in temperature and humidity, making it suitable for various environments. Installation: Often features a click-lock installation system, making it relatively easy to install as a floating floor. Comfort: SPC can feel harder underfoot due to its rigid core. Cost: Generally, SPC can be more expensive than LVT/LVP due to its composition and durability. LVT/LVP (Luxury Vinyl Tile/Plank) Core Composition: LVT/LVP flooring has a core made from PVC (polyvinyl chloride), making it more flexible. Durability: While still durable, LVT/LVP is more prone to dents and scratches compared to SPC. Stability: LVT/LVP can expand and contract more with temperature and humidity changes, which may require acclimation before installation. Installation: Can be installed using glue-down, click-lock, or loose-lay methods. The flexibility of the material can make it easier to work with in certain situations. Comfort: LVT/LVP generally feels softer underfoot compared to SPC. Cost: Typically less expensive than SPC, making it a more budget-friendly option. Common Features Water Resistance: Both SPC and LVT/LVP are water-resistant, making them suitable for areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and basements. Appearance: Both types can mimic the look of natural materials like wood or stone, offering a wide range of design options. Maintenance: Both are low-maintenance and easy to clean, requiring only regular sweeping and occasional mopping. Choosing between SPC and LVT/LVP often depends on the specific needs of the space, budget, and personal preferences for feel and durability. #flooring #spc #lvt #lvt #manufacturing #homeimprovement #buildingmaterials

Commercial Flooring FAQ: 1) What type of flooring is best for my business? Consider your businesses flooring needs, including foot traffic, durability, environmental requirements, maintenance, and design. Vinyl flooring is often better for high foot traffic environments, and is easy to maintain, with a degree of design flexibility. However, carpet tiles may be more appropriate for office environments, or retail spaces with specific design/branding requirements. Our team are happy to provide advice on the best flooring option for you. 2) What are the maintenance requirements? Maintenance varies depending on the flooring material. Carpet tiles often require more maintenance, with regular vacuuming, spot cleaning, and occasional tile replacement if necessary. On the other hand, vinyl flooring typically requires less maintenance. Though, frequent sweeping and mopping, with periodic deep cleaning is recommended. 3) What brands do you supply? Decisions, decisions, decisions... 🤔 Let’s unpack the details of these two options and help you make an informed choice. 👷🏼 Manufacturing Process: Solid hardwood is milled, kiln-dried, and finished, while engineered flooring layers veneers with a hardwood top layer, offering more stability. 💪🏼 Durability & Lifespan: Both resist wear, but solid hardwood can be refinished more often, lasting 100+ years. Engineered flooring, with fewer refinishings, can last up to 120 years with thicker wear layers. Engineered hardwood flooring is less likely to shrink or expand than solid hardwood, making it a more stable option. 💦 Moisture Resistance: Solid hardwood floors are also more susceptible to moisture and temperature changes, so users should be wary of placing this type of flooring in areas of great temperature changes, high sun, and high humidity. ✅ Sustainability: Engineered options can be eco-friendlier, using quality plywood and non-toxic glues, but solid hardwood's longevity is a sustainability plus. Both hardwood types add beauty and value to your home. Consider your lifestyle and budget; engineered hardwood is more scratch and dent-resistant, making it ideal for homes with kids or pets.
