Economic Integration between Private sector and Public Sector: Part Two Lastly, in this sector: monitoring, tracking, supervising and follow-up on goals, achievement rates, and outputs are necessary. There should be dedicated and neutral institutions for this purpose for the sake of assurance that targets are achieved and results are accomplished. Note: If we move to private education, there is a completely different industry and sector. The vision of the country has to well established and well designed. The vision shall be based on the target positioning of the country. In other words, where does the country see itself in 10 years, 20 years, and even 40 years. All shall be based on the available resources within the country itself and localizing knowledge. A country that has no Oil or Gas resources but has a rich variety of touristic attractions, targets such as annually attracting 30 million tourists needs both the public and private sectors to cooperate and complement each other. The main facility to receive tourism is the airport, to receive 30 million tourists; arrival and departure can be thought of to be completed within 20 minutes from existing the plane until the taxi pick up zone or for travelers, entering the airport building to boarding the plane and sitting in your seat can take a place in 30 minutes. Countries with spacious deserts terrain can make adventures by crossing the desert and dunes pashing as an attraction. Start with promotions, route selection, and adventure diversification. Private companies provide four wheelers, arrangements and running the show. With time, the industry will grow and the demand will drive the hospitality industry to grow. Countries with Human Resources can adopt strategies and targets to be manufacturing center (not just assembly) for the new emerging industrial trends such as electric or hybrid cars. Morocco is an excellent example where they have set the target to be a global Electrical Vehicles Manufacturing hub. Morocco has become famous for its vast, world-leading solar arrays where they are generating almost 40% of its energy needs from Solar Plants. How Morocco went big on solar energy (bbc.com) These goals require planning, strategies, and integration between the public and private sectors and amongst the targeted sectors. Industries and sectors are all interconnected where one leads to the other. This discussion could go on and on, but there must be those with the required expertise who will bear the responsibilities, execute, achieve the set goals, and elevate the economy and industrial sectors. Everything is an industry. #CTOAcademy #مؤسسة_ولي_العهد

Marine pollution and the life support system for the planet The www.GoesFoundation.com ran one of the largest citizen science projects to study oceanic marine productivity and pollution. You may find it hard to believe but there has never been a study of ocean surface water with analysis down to 20 microns. We had 50 plus blue ocean yachts sampling twice a day as they crossed oceans. The results were horrific, but they have been total ignored or dismissed by the academics. This tragic because there is so much good work conducted by very skilled and proficient skippers of blue water yachts. One of the best is Stephan Flos, and I include a link to his observations and results with GOES. Global Oceanic Environmental Survey. Stephan Flos https://lnkd.in/ei-96Eri

🧐 Many people are beginning to understand, that our current way of living will come to an end, as it is extractive and not in line with nature, which we are a part of, whether we like it or not. 💡 Nate Hagens has established the concept of "energy blindness", meaning that current models - especially economic theory - just ignore the need for energy in their theoretical calculations, referring to "Labour / Soil / Capital" as the 3 common factors of production and using energy only by it's cost of extraction. 💵 Thomas Schindler is building on this thought, pointing out the self-destructing effects of the current system, that actually (1) doubles the amount of money every 10 years (2) doubles GDP every 20 years and (3) doubles energy every 30 years on a global scale. Based on materials available and CO2-levels, this model will not be able to last, which contradicts the current greent-tech VC phantasies. 🌞 He proposes a concept called "heliogenesis", which is based in the simple natural concept, that uses sunlight as the source of energy to build and run organic organisms. He suggests an open concept in natural materials, based on the philosophy of "freeware" in the tech space. 😍 Please check out his TED Conferences talk in Berlin and get inspired. #sinnfluencer #visionary #heliogenesis #energy #nature #learnfromnature #humanity #future #thinkoutsidethebox #tech #energyblindness https://lnkd.in/gzBXEWCt

🌟 Recap of GREENMO's Webinar on Mobility Hubs of the Future: Best Practices and Governance Insights! 🌟 On October 24, 2024, the GREENMO project held its first online seminar, highlighting lessons learned and best practices in the governance of mobility hubs. 💚 Many thanks to all participants and to our fantastic expert panelists: Marla van der Horst, Olga Stepanova, Johan H. Granberg, Alex Pazuchanics, and Daniel Alberto Herrera Meek for bringing in different perspectives from the public, private and research sectors. Key Takeaways: Why Mobility Hubs? ▶ Mobility hubs centralise multiple transport options in one place, offering users a safe, accessible choice that makes it easier to switch to sustainable modes of transport rather than using the private car. Who is involved? ▶ Key stakeholders include property owners, private mobility providers and local authorities. Success depends on a collaborative decision-making process and a designated lead actor. Governance tools: ▶ The need for balance in agreements: while formal contracts help to define specific roles and provide security to public-private arrangements, at the same time too much detail can hinder flexibility. Moving from negotiation to co-creation lays the foundation for sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships. Organisational Models: ▶ Early involvement of the private sector ensures that hubs are viable and strategically located, as seen in Gothenburg's MOVE21: Zero Emission 21st Century 'Mobility Hub Hotel'. Next steps: ▶ The lessons learned will support the development of the GREENMO project´s Insight report on governance structures for mobility hubs, which will be delivered in a few months' time.💡 Stay tuned for more GREENMO project updates! 🔔 https://lnkd.in/dgyntCFS Interreg Euro-MED Programme GREENMO project

On Tuesday 9 April, the ECOP Programme, along with partners representing the New England Aquarium, #TheRippleEffect, International Ocean Institute, GOAL Global, IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society and #SmartNET co-hosted the Ocean Decade Conference satellite event: “The inclusivity we need for the Ocean we want” at Barcelona Capital Nautica. The livestream recording is now available on the ECOP Programme YouTube channel: https://lnkd.in/d54mTquS A huge thank you to all guests, moderators, organizers and attendees, and especially the New England Aquarium for making the livestream and recording possible. The outcomes of this event aligned with the vision and mission of the UN Ocean Decade by: * Empowering ECOPs with the skills, knowledge, and networks necessary to contribute meaningfully to Ocean science, conservation, and sustainable development. * Facilitating collaboration and knowledge exchange across various geographies and sectors, promoting a holistic approach to Ocean governance and stewardship. * Supporting the implementation of the Ocean Decade objectives by cultivating a diverse and inclusive community of Ocean practitioners committed to advancing Ocean science and sustainability. Key objectives proposed collaboratively by panelists and attendants included: 🗺️ Changing the location of the events to places with easier accessibility to people from both the Global North and South, 🌊 Decentralizing the way we communicate with coastal communities, 🚧 Removing so-called ‘binary’ requirements of funding opportunities that lead to the marginalization of certain communities, countries and regions, 🧩 Creating greater incentives and opportunities to provide programs/projects with intersectoral solutions to intersectional problems, 🔵 Ensuring that when transitioning to circularity that communities are at the core of the beneficiaries, 🧑🎨 For solution design to be a product of collaboration across a variety of sectors and lived experiences. We do hope you will check out the recording and we look forward to continuing this vital discussion with you.

When I saw this happening live at the Paris Olympic opening ceremony, I was very confused… The first question that popped into my head was: What stance on ecology is France sharing with the world? A flame this big that keeps burning… How much fuel would be used in 17 days? But then the information was shared: The flame wasn’t fire but a genius invention mixing water and light. The Paris Olympic Games just showed us how creativity and technology can benefit ecology. But this isn’t the only achievement from the French committee 😶 1) All Olympic venues are powered by renewable energy sources. 2) 95% of the competition venues are existing facilities or temporary structures. 3) The meals served focus on local sourcing (the goal is to cut the carbon footprint of each meal to 1 kg instead of the average of 2.3 kg). A powerful message shared with the world. Bravo la France! PS: What was your favorite moment during the opening ceremony?
