At IKEM – Institute for Climate Protection, Energy and Mobility, we have long stressed that offshore wind energy must be a keystone of the energy transition in Europe – a conviction we share with Elia Group, the parent company of our "own" TSO 50Hertz Transmission GmbH. This is one of the starting points of my contribution to Elia Group's #viewpoint publication – the article "Lessons across the Divide", which explores the differences and similarities in challenges and opportunities facing offshore wind expansion in the Baltic and North Seas. IKEM's work will continue to help shape the future of sustainable energy together with partners such as 50Hertz and Elia Group, contributing to discussions of the regulatory, technical and economic chances and obstacles that the sector faces across northern Europe. #offshorewind #energytransition #sustainablefuture #BalticSea #NorthSea #renewables
