Throwback Thursday to NP representing…..at both the City v West End Agents Charity Rugby and Netball matches, which were held last week. Congratulations to our very own Harry Woods, who co-captained the City Rugby team and Sandra N. who played for the City’s Netball team. Big W’s for both of the City teams and taking home of the silverware (and bragging rights)! 🏆 Expertly hosted by Richmond Rugby organised by Nick Patterson and only made possible by the fantastic sponsors at Brookfield Properties, Landsec, Kato, Quarterback, Oktra and Area. The event raised over £4,000 for the great causes of Muscular Dystrophy UK and ELHAP ("Every Life Has A Purpose"). #newtonperkins #sportsevent #Rugby #Netball #charity #fundraiser

Tasmanian greyhound racing clubs are deeply integrated into the local community, actively supporting a wide array of grassroots organisations and initiatives. In Hobart, the Greyhound Racing Club has embraced local sporting clubs by hosting sporting clubs challenge nights that benefit a variety of clubs across sports ranging from AFL to netball, offering both direct sponsorships and opportunities to win additional funding. Similarly, the Launceston Club enriches the community with race days tailored for aged care residents, creating memorable social experiences. Moreover, a collective initiative across Tasmanian clubs culminated in a generous $35,220 donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charity, significantly enhancing the support facilities for families of children undergoing medical treatments in Hobart. These initiatives underline the greyhound racing industry’s dedication to nurturing and giving back to the communities they operate in, reinforcing their role as key players in building and sustaining local community spirit. We’re thrilled to partner with the charity Love of the Game for the third consecutive year for an event in October alongside Holland & Holland, championing concussion awareness in sports. We recently spoke with Simon Shaw, president of the charity and former rugby player, about their incredible work. Simon shared, “I started Love of the Game to drive awareness and funding of solutions that can prevent, diagnose, and treat concussion in sport, not just rugby, but all sports.” Check out the full article to learn from Simon about their mission and what’s next for the charity: https://lnkd.in/e96UhzFH #SparkBrilliance #LoveOfTheGame #ConcussionAwareness #SportsSafety #Charity Michelle Elkins Robin Dey Rob Frank

This is my son Ben, Ben sadly lost his life in july 2022 whilst on holiday with his family This left all who new him devastated and empty. As a family we decided to raise money for the local rugby Leigh East the team Ben played for to allow all 14 years old's thru to and including open age to get heart screening which helped detect some abnormalities and saved other families go thru the same devastating loss as ourselves. Bens uncle and his friends are this year doing a grueling challenge to help raise money to do the same for Bens cousins team and other at the Golborne Parkside arlfc club. If any of my contacts would like to donate it would be really appreciated ,we are trying our best to detect heart abnormalities for the people who love playing the sport of rugby
