Here are a few simple questions I pose for entities like Bayer, Seed Organizations, etc. Would these organizations offer transparency of where their genetic material or seed collections come from such as points of origin? The second would companies like #Bayer support European patent initiatives like those in Europe who are not allowed to receive a patent for what is commonly called "Native Traits." Traits such as drought resistance strands of corn like those found at Hopi. The last but most important question is, "What have the same organizations previously mentioned provided to the descendent communities who have propagated crops in their locations for millennia?"

August is the time for treating Armillaria in NZ kiwifruit orchards. The Armillaria fungus wreaks havoc on kiwifruit vines, reducing yield and eventually killing the whole vine. Getting to the Roots of Black-Grass’s Waterlogging Tolerance, article written by Rothamsted Research's Dr Dana MacGregor Black-grass thrives on heavy land, particularly where drainage is poor.  Now a new study has shown that this problematic weed uses specific adaptations to flourish even when soil is totally saturated for up to three weeks.
