Here are some tips to ensure a fun and safe holiday for everyone: • Follow the Law: Use fireworks that are legal in your area. • Adult Supervision: Always have an adult present when fireworks are being used. • Keep a Safe Distance: Stay at least 25 feet away from lit fireworks. • Use Outdoors Only: Never light fireworks indoors or near dry grass. • Keep Water Nearby: Have a bucket of water or a garden hose ready in case of fire. • Don’t Relight: If a firework doesn’t go off, wait 20 minutes and then soak it in water. • Protect Your Pets: Keep pets indoors to reduce stress from the loud noises. •Wear Eye Protection: Safety glasses can prevent injuries. Ensure your pets have a quiet space indoors where they can retreat when fireworks start. This could be a cosy room or a designated safe area with their bed, toys, and water. Close windows and doors to minimise the noise, and consider using calming pet products such as pheromone diffusers or anxiety wraps. Incoming rant - hold onto your sleigh folks. Let’s talk about Santa’s backup plan, or should I say, lack of one. The guy is out here flying around the world on Christmas Eve with ONE plan: Rudolph. What would happen if Rudolph doesn’t show up? Is Santa stranded in the middle of a snowstorm with no visibility? Plus, there are no backup reindeer. So there would be no way to deliver those presents. He's set himself up with a significant bottleneck that could lead to disastrous consequences. Now, I understand—Rudolph saved the day, and I’m all for a bit of holiday magic, but you really can’t put all your eggs in one reindeer basket. Sometimes, you need a backup plan. Lesson here: when things are at stake, always have a Plan B. Santa got lucky, but you don’t want to rely on luck all the time.
