Mendaera, Inc. has completed a $73M Series B financing round to advance their AI-driven surgical robotics platform. The company, based in San Mateo, is known for its integration of robotics, real-time imaging, and virtual connectivity in needle-based procedures. The financing round was led by Threshold Ventures, with additional investments from Lux Capital, PFM Health Sciences, and Fred Moll. Mendaera's technology is designed to be accessible across various medical specialties and facilities. They have integrated Butterfly Network's Ultrasound-on-Chip technology and acquired Avail Medsystems' telepresence technology. According to Founder and CEO, Josh DeFonzo, the funding will enhance their AI and connectivity capabilities with plans for a clinical introduction in the near future. The aim is to improve access to high-quality care, reduce costs, and enhance patient experience.
