PLASTIC RECYCLING RATES Recycling rates have to be increased in every part of the world. This has to be done in a collective way with packaging companies, recyclers and national governments working together. The USA particularly has got to increase plastic recycling rates, across the board. Control of unregulated and illegal recycling, resulting in substandard materials being sold into international markets, particularly Europe, has also got to be stamped out. This is affecting the quality of materials placed on the market and disrupting attempts to create a truly circular economy. Above all the use of mono-materials and investment in infrastructure are the most vital ways to improve performance.
