“Any digital transformation in healthcare must be accessible to all users, particularly the disabled, older users and those less digitally literate...To address these gaps, we need we need a comprehensive approach that includes investment in technology, skills, training, and capacity, alongside meaningful staff and public engagement. We need compliance with accessibility standards like WCAG, diverse user groups in testing, user-friendly navigation, and support for digital literacy." Moving "from an analogue to a digital NHS" 🏥 That is the pledge from our Prime Minister, will we say change happen? The NHS is screaming out for help, we've all being number 32 in the GP queue, faced the dreaded 5 hour waits in A&E, heard of those who have missed out on specialist treatment or mental health services when time is critical. I am hoping this not just a powerful statement but the start of change, Darzi's report pledges to tackle so much and some of our health technology leaders have had their say - read the full article for all but a few highlights: - Modernising how care is delivered Jacob Haddad - Driving the shift from treatment to prevention Markus Bolton - Use Technology to breakdown communication in a country that has so much diversity - Rachael Grimaldi focused on this and the widespread adoption of technology - Incentiving the NHS to effectively use data analytics Dr. Nadine Hachach-Haram FRCS (Plast), BEM - Focusing on EPR's adoption Lisa Harris - So powerful in helping to ensure parents don't have to relay a child's medical history at times that are tough #nhs #digitalhealth #AI

The results from the first year of the digital maturity assessment (DMA) in 2023, showed that only 10 to 30% of the 90% of NHS trusts with an electronic patient record had key functionality and were making full use of their system. Last year it included 50 questions, measuring maturity against the seven dimensions of the What Good Looks Like framework: well led, smart foundations, safe practice, support people, empower citizens, improve care, and healthy populations. The UK is on the brink of a major healthcare transformation according to a recent Digital Health article. The UK's Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has pledged to transition the NHS from an analogue to a digital system, following insights from Lord Ara Darzi's recent report. 🚀 This report underscores the critical need for: 📊 enhanced use of patient data 👨💻 stronger digital infrastructure 🤖 AI integration to improve care quality and efficiency. While the NHS has been in the "foothills of digital transformation," the time for action is now, it appears. Starmer's 10-year plan focuses on a digital overhaul, shifting care from hospitals to community settings, and emphasising prevention over treatment. This will aim to address outdated technologies and health inequalities head-on, promising a more integrated and efficient healthcare system. We're excited about these promises but what are your thoughts on this digital transformation journey? How can technology redefine our approach to healthcare delivery? Our founder, Dr. Hector Zenil, was featured on 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 following Lord Darzi’s report on the NHS: “It would be unfair to say the NHS is uniformly behind the private sector in terms of its adoption of technology. There are teams and leaders within the NHS who are at the forefront of innovation, such as AI and virtual wards. “The challenge is one of implementation. Adopting emerging technologies requires far more checks and balances compared to the private sector, which is absolutely right given the need to prioritise patient safety. “However, there is also a need to articulate a vision for the health service, which helps to educate the public, policy makers and clinicians on what is required to redefine the delivery of diagnosis and treatment. “There are costs involved in embracing any new technology and in the current economic situation, there must be a discussion about where to prioritise investment because it is not possible to address every medical issue at once.” Commissioned by the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care this year, Lord Professor Ara Darzi conducted an independent investigation of the NHS. Lord Darzi’s report provides an expert understanding of the current performance of the NHS across England and the challenges facing the healthcare system. https://lnkd.in/ebxj-AD6 #predictivemedicine #precisionhealthcare #digitalcare #artificialintelligence #virtualwards #AGI4Health #AI4Health

💻 👨🦳 Think older adults can’t adapt to digital? Think again. “We’ve been surprised how well this cohort of people have responded to using a digital option. I think the assumption is always that older adults can’t or won’t, but actually it has not been the case at all. I think it’s given us the confidence to use digital options…It also makes the clinical appointment less daunting.” – Jacqueline Tyson, Staff Governor for Older People and Frailty at Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT NHS). We recently sat down with Jacqueline to discuss how EBO’s AI-Automated Assessment Solution is reshaping patient care and enhancing accessibility. 🏡💙With the new digital MAMS (Memory and Mental State) assessment form, patients now have the flexibility to complete assessments at their own pace, from the comfort of their homes, with the added support of carers when needed. 🎧 Watch the full interview here! ▶️ https://lnkd.in/g-c8_9iF #AIinHealthcare #DigitalInnovation #PatientCare #EBO #HealthTech #AccessForAll #NHS

In his official report, published today, Lord Darzi emphasises the urgent need for more ‘technologies that would support more efficient, higher quality, safer care in the community’, and for technologies capable of radically reshaping NHS treatment pathways. This is not something that we need to wait years to see. This year alone, millions of NHS patients will directly benefit from the launch of new tech tools into NHS pathways. In July of this year, 13,000 NHS patients with musculoskeletal injuries accessed on-demand, virtual triage through the #Phio platform. That’s 13,000 people who bypassed waiting lists and were directed straight to the best source of treatment. By forging new tech-medited care pathways, tools such as #Phio are helping reduce the burden on secondary care and conserve resources across the health system. A commitment to further accelerate the adoption of proven new technologies is a vital step to restore the world-leading status of the NHS. #FutureOfHealthcare #HealthcareTransformation #TechForGood https://lnkd.in/edYHcsJC
