#OpenApplications Food Planet Prize is calling for #LatinAmerican projects in the #food arena to nominate for a powerful #environmental #award. The Curt Bergfors Food Planet Prize awards $2 million to a single winning project that significantly reduces the #environmental impact of the way we eat. We were established in Sweden on August 30, 2019, in acknowledgment of the perils that our current food systems pose to the #health of #people and the #planet and with the conviction that the ways we produce, distribute, and consume food must be radically and urgently reformed if future generations — and the planet itself — are to survive and thrive. The prize can be awarded to individuals or organizations in both commercial and non-commercial settings. You can nominate your own initiative or someone else's. This year's theme, “𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲” is a goal that the #Food4CEProject fully embraces. 🎯 Through the creation of 5 local #InnovationHubs and 1 Transnational Hub, #Food4CE is helping #AFNs address challenges related to #Logistics, #Digitalization, and #DistributionSystems. Our #KnowledgeTransferPlatform and #MatchmakingPlatform enable #AlternativeFoodNetworks to share #BestPractices, improve #LogisticsEfficiency, and foster new #BusinessSolutions. That’s why CLEVERFOOD is launching the campaign, “Food is for Everyone: Shaping the European Food System for a #FairFoodRevolution”, in collaboration with the FOOD 2030 Networks. Running from October 1st to October 18th, and aligned with #WorldFoodDay, we encourage you to get involved by sharing your own experiences and stories! Meanwhile, the EU4Advice project is working to enhance sustainability in food systems by empowering short food supply chains (SFSCs). The project connects SFSC advisors across all 27 EU member states, integrates advisory tools into national Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS), and improves AKIS governance. Together, we are helping food chain actors adopt practices that are economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable. The European Commission unveils a new publication on the Food 2030 initiative 🌍✨   This extensive read lays out eleven tactical avenues for action. These avenues provide concrete answers on both a local and global level, ranging from digital innovation to alternative proteins, urban transformations, and governance reforms.   Crucially, these imaginative routes aren't limited to printed materials. Through Horizon Europe, the EU's ground-breaking framework for research and innovation (2021–2027), they are actively shaping initiatives. This program is leading the way in funding various initiatives aimed at creating more sustainable food systems, such as #FOODPathS.   FOOD2030 seeks to address complex challenges with creative and practical solutions by promoting collaboration across diverse fields and taking a systemic, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary approach to research and innovation.   These pathways were updated via teamwork rather than by one person working alone. Approximately ninety experts, each with their own experiences and backgrounds, collaborated to shape the future path during a participatory workshop on March 10, 2023, in Brussels   Ready to discover the future of the European Food System?
