The Y landed at #11 on this list for youth. I’ll say that again…the Y was #11 on this list for the $1.34M raised for youth services. A lot of Y staff are and were those youth in Y programs. They saw the Y as a place that supported their development as individuals and nurtured their growth as leaders in society. Many of them are surprised when they become employees and that support stops being focused on their growth with no opportunities for advancement and development. As an organization, one priority that should remain evergreen is employee development. We must allocat dollars to continue to support the development of the youth from our programs as staff as they are the opportunity youth that will ensure the Ys continued service in and with communities across the country. From this report, many people are donating to the Y for our youth. In order for the Y to continue to remain relevant and viable, examine the investment in the continued development of younger staff. Is Learning & Leadership Development a priority? Is it embedded in your organization’s Strategic Plan? Is it embedded in your supervisor culture? Are their clear pathways to advancement? #GenZ #leadership #MLDNation

Transparency is one great way to garner public confidence thereby ensuring consistent donations. Hence, charity organizations should be open about their operations, their financial status, and the extent of help they are rendering or seek to render to society now and in the future.
