At the risk of doing one of those "today I spoke to the CRO of an $XX million company..." posts ⤵ This morning, I **really did** speak with the CRO of a multi BILLION dollar company, and here's what he had to say: ⭐ Earlier in his career, he took a company from $7M to $75M in revenue in 8 years. ⭐ Having joined Pavilion he now believes he could have done the same thing in HALF the time if he had been a member back in those days. ⭐ As a CXO "you get knocked down every week" and have to pick yourself back up again - and that can be hard to do on your own. Having the support of a community makes you feel less alone and ensures you have a safe space to go when things get tough. ⭐ The people who will succeed in GTM in the future will be the ones who tap into their networks for support, advice and knowledge so they can benefit from lessons learned and see around corners. Yes, this is a post about Pavilion. But it's also a post about the power of community. "you get knocked down every week" - that one really resonated with me! It's tough out there folks. It's tough to DO the job, and tough to FIND the job. But the good news is, you don't have to go it alone. Find your community. Make the time to build relationships. Give before you get. Attending the CP Expo in Vegas marked my first in-person event and business travel in quite a few years. Reflecting on the week, it reinforced one of the aspects of sales that I cherish the most - the human connection. B2B isn't just about companies collaborating; it's about people forming connections. While virtual meetings have their place, nothing compares to face-to-face interaction. Anyone who believes (incoming overused buzzword of the day) AI could replace the significance of genuine human engagement in B2B either misunderstands the essence or isn't actively involved in the industry. At the Expo, it was evident that people were genuinely thrilled to reunite. As a first-timer, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy witnessing the heartfelt reunions. However, now I'm part of that vibrant community, eagerly anticipating the chance to reunite with new friends and clients in the years to come. Next stop: RSA Conference in San Francisco. Holy F... S... #XeroCon Nashville was amazing! Why? Here's my (not complete at all) list: Twenty Eighty was nominated for two awards. The People's Choice Award, and the Advisory Innovator of the Year Award. These nominations had us jacked as we have put so much time and effort into our client experience, and how we advise. 👊👊👊 As a team, we were fortunate enough to take home the Advisory Innovator of the Year Award against a very, very amazing field! We're just getting started, but this really hits home that our approach and style is different. 🎉🎉🎉 Personally I re-connected with a boat load of people in the community. Big shout outs to: Jordan Vickery - for our candid chats on the state of the union, gut checks on goals for each day and for a few 🍻. Let's get something going on how things differ! Liam Guy - for taking care of your peeps with some fun events, introducing me to a raft of new Xero's and taking the time to chat on where Twenty Eighty is going. I'm excited for what we can do together! I think you unfurled a lot more for me than you know! 🙌 (and congrats on MNP's success!) Twyla - for walking through Mercury with me and catching up in general, if you didn't know this is one amazing app with an amazing leader (for 🇺🇸 only though... sorry fellow 🇨🇦's) Kenji - for giving me a hug when I first got into town even though I was pretty rank. 🤣 We still need to catch up. 🌟 Miami, Here I Come - A Week of Many Wins! 🌟 As I sit here waiting to take off for eXp Con in Miami, I’ve had a moment to reflect on the past 13 months since starting my business. It’s been a whirlwind, and if I’m being honest, the first 9 months without any real salary were tough. There were times it felt impossible, but I was lucky to have such a awesome support network around me. But looking back now, the last four months show that every bit of that grind was worth it. Thanks to eXp, I’m in a position where for the first time ever, I’ve been able to pay for this holiday outright—no credit card needed. That’s something I never thought I’d be able to say, and it feels incredible. The biggest win this week? I just got the news that I’ve capped! This means for the next 9 months, I’ll be taking home 100% of my commission. (Minus a small transaction fee)🔥 It’s a huge milestone and a game changer for my financial future 🚀 On top of that, I’ve been shortlisted for two awards at the eXp awards in London this December, which is such a humbling experience. To be recognized for the hard work and dedication is an honor. Now, I’m looking forward to this trip for some well-earned downtime either side of the conference with my wife (who has been my rock❤️) It’s a chance to recharge and reflect on the journey, and I’m excited for what’s to come. I've learnt it’s impossible to work 7 days a week forever, but in the beginning, I had to. I had to grow my business, and I had to fit my life around it. Whew! Friends, let me tell you...it has been quite the past several weeks! Recently, I've been super involved in local community events such as the COO Summit, Breck Retailers Sip and Stroll with The Summit Chamber, Breck Film, and Axis Sports Medicine's Axis Ascent (to name a few), with even more events in store for the near future.
