It is always a good day when I see Tom Tang and Kurtis Hodge spreading the news about May Mobility and how we are transforming transportation! Check out the article in Forbes to learn more.
Forbes just published a new article by Richard Bishop about the future of #driverless cars and their impact on cities. The piece delves into our approach here at May Mobility, our deep partnership with Toyota Motor Corporation, and some of the perspectives that I shared during my keynote address at the 2024 Automated Road Transportation Symposium in San Diego at the end of July. https://lnkd.in/g2ggUnMT #technology #autonomousvehicles #maymobility #forbes

Will Robotaxis be in most major cities by 2026? I think so. Attending #tcdisrupt2024 I rode in my first Waymo (5.6B recent Alphabet Inc. investment) yesterday and listened to the co-founder of Zoox speak today (acquired by Amazon for 1.6B). Read my full article here [https://bit.ly/3BYXuFR] Zoox will roll out in SoMA in SF and on the Las Vegas strip in the next few weeks. They plan for Austin and Miami next with big production plans for 2026. Key features of Zoox robotaxi: 🚗 Symmetrical, boxy design 🚫 No steering wheel or pedals 🤝 Focus on passenger interaction Initial deployment plans 🌍: - San Francisco's SoMa - Las Vegas Strip - Austin and Miami Zoox emphasizes: ✅ Full autonomy 🛡️ Adherence to safety standards 🚫 Minimal human intervention The company's vision: 📉 Decreased car ownership 🚶♂️ More pedestrian-friendly cities 🌆 Reduced urban congestion Zoox's approach differs from competitors like Tesla, prioritizing complete autonomy over driver assistance. This transformative shift in urban transportation raises questions about societal readiness and potential impacts on city landscapes. Are we prepared for this radical change in how we move? 👉 What's your take on the future of autonomous transportation? ♻️ Repost and Follow Elise Victor PhD

🚖 Are we ready for a world without steering wheels? 🤔 In an exciting leap towards the future, Zoox has begun testing its fully autonomous robotaxis on the busy streets of San Francisco and the bustling Vegas Strip! 🏙️ With no steering wheel or pedals in sight, this innovative vehicle is designed to represent a new era of urban mobility. Backed by Amazon and recently unveiled at TechCrunch Disrupt by CTO Jesse Levinson, Zoox's latest move showcases both ambition and confidence in the potential of self-driving technology. While federal regulations continue to impact autonomous vehicle rollouts across various regions, this bold step signals that companies like Zoox are committed to paving the way for a driverless future. So what does this mean for city commuters? Could we soon be hailing rides from vehicles that order themselves back home once their passengers disembark? Join us in discussing what these groundbreaking advancements could mean for our daily lives and urban development! Would you feel comfortable riding in one of these autonomous robotaxis? What are your thoughts on safety, regulation, or accessibility as these innovations begin integrating into our cities? Let’s share perspectives—your take matters as we navigate through this transition into unparalleled convenience! 🚀 Connect with startups to drive your corporate innovation 🚀 Book a meeting! https://lnkd.in/dTxGsKrN #Zoox #Robotaxi #AutonomousVehicles #UrbanMobility #TransportationInnovation #FutureOfTransport #TechCrunchDisrupt #SelfDrivingCar #SmartCities #AmazonBacked Read more: https://lnkd.in/deKxMcbb
