Use of the Sentinel Cerebral Protection System by Boston Scientific during TAVR was associated with lower readmission rates, shorter hospital stays—and, yes, a lower risk of patients suffering a major stroke. A team of specialists with Cleveland Clinic shared their new findings in the Journal of the American Heart Association.

We have developed an upright radiation therapy chair to offer an alternative treatment position for patients who struggle with lying down for treatment due to pain, breathing, or swallowing issues. The chair is a portable device, designed to integrate with the two most common C-arm linear accelerator treatment machines. By rotating the patient we are able to take volumetric (3D) images to check the patient position, image quality is currently being evaluated in a clinical trial (ACTRN12623000498695) as a first step toward future therapies. This tool can detect low ejection fraction in just 15 seconds during a routine exam using an Eko stethoscope. This tool is part of Eko's SENSORA Cardiac Early Detection Platform and aims to help clinicians identify patients at risk of heart failure, particularly in underserved communities.
