In the dim, buzzing glow of the restaurant’s incandescent lights, the life of a server unfolds like a frenetic dance with chaos. It’s a relentless ballet on the tightrope of human interaction, where each night is a raw, unfiltered performance. The floor becomes a battlefield of spilled wine and dropped silverware, a testament to the unpredictable nature of the service industry. With every smile, the server trades in patience and empathy for the sweet illusion of satisfaction, navigating the minefield of demands, complaints, and the occasional act of genuine gratitude. This is no mere job; it’s a gritty, unsung art form where camaraderie and fatigue intermingle, and the reward is not in the applause but in the shared resilience of the frontline warriors of hospitality. For some, a mere stepping stone of a job to higher riches and rewards, while for others, it can be endless and vicious cycle of hot plates, late nights, and if you’re lucky, maybe a cold beer among comrades. #serverlife #foodservice #foodserviceindustry

Introducing, Florian Beuren, Global Jägermeister Manifest Ambassador, Jägermeister UK Ambassador and this week’s incredible #IndustryInspiration ! 👏 Florian embarked on his journey in hospitality in Germany, entering his first classic cocktail competition in 1998! A few years later, Florian decided to move to London to follow his passion for bartending! In 2009, Florian won the Bacardi street fight championship in Bratislava, resulting in him travelling the world and meeting some incredible bartenders. All of these experiences led to his current position at Jägermeister. Delving into his role, Florian explains, “My role is to focus on the liquid and education but also some events like the Meister Hunter and our Hubertus Circle. Education for example is very important as a lot of people know Jägermeister but not so much how it’s made or how to drink it. Our Hubertus circle is our Jägermeister bartender program which is in 19 countries around the world and in the UK. Our HC is supporting our sales force and marketing team at every event, festival and also at training sessions! Last but not least I started our Jägermeister Meister Hunter cocktail competition 7 years ago and this year’s competition is taking place in Finland, Ireland, Austria, Switzerland and the UK with the Final in London on the 11th of November.” Speaking on his love for the brand, Florian shares, “First of all it’s the people I work with which make it a lot of fun. Plus Jägermeister is a cool brand and when I was working behind the bar it was my shot of choice! We are still family owned and I love the freedom and creativity I can add to my work.” The future looks bright for Florian, as he shares his goals, “For me it’s important to be close to the bar industry and to grow things like our Meister Hunter competition further, plus support our Hubertus Circle bartender’s to achieve their goals. As well as, focusing on my two roles the UK and the global role and make sure everyone knows all about what Jägermeister, Jägermeister Manifest and the portfolio is and how you serve it, how versatile the liquids are and what it can add to your drink.” To conclude, Florian offers some words of advice to fellow hospitality professionals, stating, “I think bartenders are the perfect ambassadors as that is something they do already behind the bar; you make great drinks, you sell, you advise and educate your customer. If you work hard and enjoy what you are doing combined with the drive and passion to succeed then I believe good things will come!”

Before we open we start our day with a premeal. This consist of different topics of conversation that keeps us aligned. We go over any new items, events for the day, and this pictures below is a roleplay being presented. This is reflecting at its finest. Here at Your 3rd Spot™ Social Dining we do roleplays to keep things fresh. As a team in different positions it's fun to hear what one department will spiel to guests vs. another department. When we do these roleplays we always have the team reflect. What did we like or what can we add. Hearing these also keep the team informed and aligned so we are all on one accord. These roleplays are super fun as well with the team because they are always different. We throw out different names and situations. It's always fun to see the reply with who is doing the roleplay because you must know how to answer any curve ball. That's why this team is so great. They test each other because we all have the same goal of winning and delivering the best of the best. Now that is a team. Working together to be better. #your3spot #atl #atlanta #hospitality #teamwork #growth

Meet the N&P team! For our first “Meet the Team,” we have a man who needs no introduction! You’ve seen him frequently on our social media, from hosting spirits tastings in our cellars to being an excellent hand model...Spirits Specialist, Steven Cook. In this series, we will be asking the Nickolls & Perks team a few questions so you can get to know the people who make N&P tick. "What’s your favourite Dram?" It's always a tricky question for a booze geek. Something peated in a port cask. "What’s your favourite local restaurant?" The Old Wharf Inn. I'll be there for another top-draw Sunday roast this month. "What’s your desert island drink?" Another toughie. A bourbon, perhaps. If you find any islands with Michter's 20 Year Old on tap, let me know. "What’s your favourite Band/Artist?" I'm a big fan of shoegaze-y style stuff like Stumbleine, Tourist or M83, they're great for a road trip. "What’s something you think is totally overrated?" Nightclubs. Too loud. Give me an old-school boozer, taproom or swanky bar any day. "...and finally What’s your guilty pleasure?" Horlicks. I'm already accused of being older than my years. A hot cup of Horlicks certainly doesn't do that reputation any favours. #NickollsPerks #MeetTheTeam

How To Get A Job At A Drinks Brand 🚀 Webinar this Monday 23rd at 2pm with Jake Merrick-wren from Marvel FMCG - Certified B Corporation® Jake and our team align on a few things and one in particular is that more bartenders should work with drinks brands. It makes the ultimate sense - particularly given the importance of the on-trade channel to building brands and the bartender's knowledge of this space. Speaking from experience, sometimes you get to the end of the road with bartending and want to make a career change. Moving from behind the bar to building brands can be a great move for bartenders but it is not always obvious the steps to take to get there. This webinar will fill those gaps. Before drinks brand recruitment, Jake was a bartender and a key account manager for Martin Millers Gin, so he understands the journey. This webinar will have loads of tips and pointers about what bartenders need to do to get ready to make the jump to the brand side. Register to attend here: https://lnkd.in/efwWq4zX #hospitality #bartenders #drinskbrands

Personal growth post, maybe 🤷🏼♂️ As most of you know, Whiskyside found its new home beneath 'The Distiller's Lounge' in Scarborough which is the latest venue within the J&S Pub Company umbrella. As well as giving Whiskyside & the world's largest collection of English whisky a home, I was also offered the management role for the entire venue. I've since learnt that hospitality management isn't for me but have a new massive respect for those that do it. It was unfair on the company for me to manage the venue when I'm so desperate to do something else. That something being making Whiskyside a huge success. Managing the venue, staff & working front of house really didn't leave much time for anything else. That being said, I've stepped down as manager and taken a part time role there. Giving me time to properly focus on Whiskyside but also give me so much more time with Charlotte & the girls. The Distiller’s Lounge now has a manager who can give it their 100% and I can put my energies into making Whiskyside grow. #growth #whisky #business #smallbusiness
