This work delves into the enabling characteristics of blockchain technology that support its application in the agri-food sectors, with a particular focus on transparency, immutability, redundancy, versatility, automation, and remittance. Our findings highlight the crucial roles of immutability and automation in enhancing food traceability, though the application of blockchain in the agri-food sector is not without controversies, technical improvements and environmental impacts require further research. Tech project titled "Product Counterfeit Protection and Tracking with Blockchain Technology", has been *successfully indexed in Scopus!* The paper was presented at the prestigious conference "Twelfth International Conference on Recent Trends in Information Processing and Computing- IPC 2023", and was published by "Grenze Scientific Society". This milestone not only validates the rigorous work behind the research but also highlights the importance of addressing counterfeit challenges using blockchain.
