Disrupt yourself before you are disrupted is not a new concept. But it is easier said than done. Earlier this week we opened our tool box in a Radical Innovation masterclass. It was aimed at industry innovation leaders who want actionable insights and a game plan. Why I am so excited and looking forward for the year that has just started…😄🤗👍🏻💪🏻 When my previous employer went bankrupt, I made a promise to myself…no more start-ups, instability and uncertainty in my career…😰😨😰 In the middle of those harsh Q2 months of 2024, where I literally could not sleep and was entering a stage of pre-depression, everything ended up being questioned..suddenly working for Aftersales and focusing on Filters, Spark-Plugs, Engine Oil and so on was not that boring anymore..at least it would allow me to pay my bills and enrich my CV..🙁😐🫤 Until VinFast came..and, more important than a Salary or a certain name on my position, came a real Product Strategy..a portfolio of Products about to be launched..an ambitious Product lineup needing to be adapted to EU tastes and expectations..a comprehensive BEV-SUV lineup and a bunch of truly friendly and knowledgeable professionals that welcomed me with a smile and are always there to help..🚙🚘🚗🔋⚡️ Like this it is quite natural to give the extra-mile, to work long hours in what you Love, and moreover to be genuinely grateful for the opportunity of a lifetime..once again!!!🫡 😊 🏎️ Please stay tuned over here, can’t wait to show you more of what’s to come!!! #Lookingforwardtothefuture #Excitingtimesahead #Happy2025 #ProductPlanningRules #Automotive4ever

This week, corporate innovation leaders were asked, "How do you define innovation?" Webster’s Dictionary defines it as a new idea, method, or device, or the introduction of something new. But as corporate innovators, we know that innovation isn’t just about creating something new—it’s about delivering a valued outcome. It’s about solving real problems, commercializing solutions, and driving meaningful revenue. Innovation is the art of bringing together people and technology to tackle valuable challenges. It takes courage—to try, to fail, to refine, and to try again. Surrounded by product innovations that are making a tangible impact, I felt deep admiration for the innovators journey—from ideation to the 3M Innovation Center show floor. Thank you to LaunchMN and 3M for fostering a space for innovators to connect and grow. "Nel mezzo del cammin..." While the European public opinion suddenly woke up on topics like deep tech funding and support for disruptive innovation, the European Innovation Council (#EUeic) reached already the middle of its life cycle (2021-2027). Since there is a lot of discussion and (sometimes unjustified) opinions on it, I believe that it is always better to take a look on actual data and facts, before drawing conclusions. What a better moment than a "mid term" reflection? Here just the top 3 quick findings I got while playing around with some numbers: - the EIC crossed its midlife by delivering 5 Billions € to more than 1000 Projects run by disruptive innovators all over EU (from universities to start-ups and scale-ups) - every 14th successful project is lead by or as an Austrian participant onboard - during the last 3.5 years, I could support Austrian disruptive innovators to bring >100 M€ to the Austrian innovation ecosystem. These are just few quick findings, anyone can make her/his/their own mind on that, there is no intent of judgement, either political or public statement here. In my small way, it is just nice when you can look back, see what you did and be able to tell yourself... "not bad" 😎
