What Must You Do to Secure an Entry-Level IT Role in 2024? Answers: https://lnkd.in/gSY-gWP7 #ITcareers #EntryLevelJobs #CareerTransition Hey everyone! 🙋♂️ I'm 30 and I've spent some time working in healthcare (as a CNA) and retail. Lately, I've been seriously considering a career switch into IT. 🖥️ I've been doing my homework for the past couple of months, and I’m thinking about getting my AAS in CIT, followed by a bachelor's degree, while picking up some certifications along the way. I know getting into IT can be super competitive, especially for entry-level roles, but I’ve heard once you're in the mid-career zone, it’s easier to switch things up. That said, I've come across stories in this community where folks with bachelor's degrees are still struggling to land basic help desk positions. 🤔 This makes me wonder—what qualifications do you really need to break into an entry-level IT role in 2024? Here are a few thoughts I have: Certifications: Which certifications do you find most valuable? Real-World Experience: How important are internships or any hands-on projects? Networking: What strategies can help me connect with professionals in the field? Educa...

Hello Linked-Fam👋 I have been on the hunt for placement and internship jobs lately, a step I need to take for my master’s program. Along the way to acquiring a master's in Global healthcare management, I’ve picked up a certificate in Healthcare Supply Chain and Operations Management and I’m working towards a diploma in Healthcare Project Management. 🎓 But here’s the twist – despite this training for career development, I keep bumping into the same request from recruiters: “UK work experience”. It’s a bit of a puzzle, isn’t it? 🤔 For Internship and placement positions🙆♂!!! They ask for something that seems to be offered sparingly. How does one get their foot in the door when the door requires you to have already been inside?🤔 It’s like being asked to fly without wings or cook without a kitchen. I’m all for gaining experience – it’s crucial, but it’s also a two-way street. Entry-level positions are stepping stones, and without them, how can we stride forward? So, dear recruiters, I propose a toast (and not just because I’m hungry) – to opportunities, to open doors, and to the chance to volunteer. Let’s make the experience a little like less chicken and egg, which comes first? and a bit more like both sides helping each other out. 🐣➡🐔 Who’s ready to spice things up and let a fresh-face volunteer for a role? After all, today’s volunteer could be tomorrow’s MVP. 🌟 I Would love to hear your thoughts and any advice on this mystery! #JobHunting #WorkExperience #CareerDevelopment #internship #healthcaremanagement #projectmanagement #healthcareoperation #healthcarestrengthening

People ask…“What is a business student doing working at a hospital?”… • • • Everytime I enter a new hospital as a student I am asked this question. Although I am usually doing an administrative job, they always assume I am a pre-med or a STEM student. In today's healthcare, hospitals are more than just places for treating the sick; they've evolved into intricate businesses. Beyond medical staff, there's a network of administrators, marketers, finance professionals, and more working behind the scenes. This shift reflects a broader trend where healthcare, both in the United States and abroad, has become increasingly commercialized. Amidst the focus on bottom lines and market competition, it's crucial to remember the human element at the core of healthcare delivery. For business students looking at their next career move, hospitals offer a wealth of opportunities for growth, job security, and invaluable experience. Internships and roles within hospital administration, marketing, finance, and beyond provide unmatched opportunities to develop skills and make meaningful contributions to a sector that impacts lives daily.
