I think even in the past, though especially now, 4o has definitively been outcompeting o1-preview and -mini in creative writing. Human writers are able to leverage thought and gradual revision, so I hope that future iterations of reasoning models will achieve further improvements in writing too. Perhaps marketing's significance as an LLM use case is a motivator for keeping this in mind as a target during development.

Bigger, Faster, Cheaper. I just saw the other day that BMW has had Figure 02 for the past three months and expects to have more one the way in January. OpenAI has made strides in the AI world with models like o1 which follows chain of thought to reason out the best solutions to problems.
