I emphasized the urgent need for reform to combat torture and inhumane conditions in many countries, and highlighted: · Strategies for addressing overcrowding, inadequate healthcare, and other pressing issues · The importance of transparency and accountability mechanisms to ensure humane treatment of inmates · A focus on the needs of vulnerable populations · Recommendations for the management of shocks caused by the climate crisis or pandemics This summary also contains the key findings from my report on my visit to Ukraine in 2023. While Greece has taken steps against hate crimes, the fight against antisemitism is far from over. Last week, our legal intern Christabel Simamba attended the 24th OSCE Conference of the Alliance Against Trafficking in Persons. Here’s some of her key takeaways from the session on child rights and supply chains - looking at understanding the nexus between children's rights and human rights due diligence. There is a need for businesses to: ❏ Recognise the critical overlap between children's rights and broader human rights due diligence in global supply chains. ❏ Foster an exchange of strategies aimed at identifying, preventing, and addressing child labour and trafficking risks. ❏ Encourage collaboration and sharing of best practices among stakeholders to develop effective measures for mitigating risks and protecting children in supply chains. Dont stay silent on this ! Speak up against genocide ! The systematic dysmantling of an entire health care system, for an entire population in extremely increased need of care, combined with the extra creation of life threatening living conditions for all (starvation, dehydration, no housing, forced crowding, no aid ...) clearly unveils the intention of the illegal occupier. The massive scale of it, the systematic nature of it, the complete lack of proportionality, the utter disregard for the obligation to organise continuity of care, ... "Deliberately inflicting (on a specific population group) conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction" - "deprivation of resources essential for survival" - exact numbers of victims or % are not even relevant - intentions do not even have to be expressed in words, acts count, especially if they are as systematical as in this case Under international medical laws and regulations it has been clear for a long time now. This is genocide. (even military doctors/hospitals would be protected under the international law, by the way)

In complete agreeance! States are starting to move toward laws against coercive control but some other countries have already criminalized it! In the US it is referred to as domestic VIOLENCE. That word alone is synonymous with physical. Domestic ABUSE is so much more than what the US criminalizes…physical abuse. Coercive control is dangerous! Coercive control can linger after the survivor leaves the relationship as post-separation abuse. Coercive control can linger for a lifetime for survivors. If damaging a survivor psychologically and taking away the survivors personal liberties and human rights isn’t criminal, we need to rethink a lot of things!! The reason why I am in community education. I work for a progressive and phenomenal agency, which supports me in creating presentations. I created a coercive control presentation and presented it for the first time this past week! I honestly cannot be more proud of the end result and it received very positive feedback from the attendees!!! #coercivecontrol #communityeducation

'Human Rights on steroids' in USA: America won't admit felons into their country, BUT, they can elect a felon as President, AND, also allow their president to run the country as a prison inmate!!! Good time for all other countries to ensure their Judiciary/Laws/Constitution, will never allow for such stupidity.
