The Adelaide Strikers sit bottom of the Big Bash League (BBL). While I didn't initiate a Deep Dive on the Strikers, a perfunctory Check-In was enough to begin understanding why they sit bottom of the BBL. 1. In 10 Games the Adelaide Strikers have had 6 Different Opening Combinations. 2. They've had the Same Opening Combination and Same Opening Combination Structure 3 Times in 10 Games. 3. They've used 6 Different Openers in 10 Games. - Alex Carey (1) - Matthew Short (7) - D'Arcy Short (6) - Chris Lynn (3) - Ollie Pope (1) - Jake Weatherald (2) The Fluctuation and Instability in the Opening Position is emblematic of a Wider Problem at Adelaide. This is a Cricket Team that isn't constructed particularly well. They don't operate within any particular Formation Framework. They also don't seem to value Structure and Stability or Rules-Based Decision-Making. The problems don't end there. It's important to remember that the Competitive Advantage in Building Any Sports Team isn't the heavy use of Data or Analytics. The Competitive Advantage in Building a Cricket Team or Any Sports Team lies in Developing a Team Building Process that when executed correctly ensures Alignment. That Alignment doesn't guarantee wins but it increases their likelihood. Cricket Australia #BigBashLeague #BBL #Australia #Cricket #AdelaideStrikers

This weekend has highlighted why not having relegation is compromising the sporting integrity of Premiership Rugby. Northampton Saints record demolition of Gloucester Rugby meant one of the best run-ins to seal a top-4 place gave #Saints a guaranteed home semi-final without the opposition throwing a punch, while all the others in the chase had to put themselves highly competitive games. #Gloucester made 12 changes from their European Challenge Cup semi-final win against Benetton Rugby Treviso last week. It could be rightly argued that #Northampton would have achieved the same result even if they were up against a full-strength Gloucester Team but that's not the point. After not getting anywhere in England's top League, Gloucester have come out quite honestly saying that they are targeting silverware in the #ChallengeCup at the expense of their Premiership performance. In another match, with no risk of relegation Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club, to their credit, gave it a fair go against Bath Rugby coming out with a 17-28 home loss. For those not aware that was the Falcon's 17th loss from the 17 games played this season pipping Gloucester by quite a margin as the #Premiership whipping boys. The good, or bad news, depending on how you look at it is that #Newcastle plays #Gloucester next week in the last game of the campaign. In the #Championship, we have Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club on the cusp of another title. It is expected that next season's promotion and relegation between the #Premiership and #Championship will revert to being, on an annual one-up, one-down basis. However, with caveats around facilities, etc. and with the Premiership ownership structure where 73% is owned by the incumbent clubs (the other 27% by CVC Capital Partners), I'm not holding my breath for turkeys voting for Christmas and letting an ambitious club like #Ealing get the chance they deserve. Therefore, we might expect similar compromised games at the end of future seasons. #Rugby #PremiershipRugby #EnglandRugby England Rugby World Rugby European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR)

In the world of limited-overs cricket, the spotlight often shines on the openers, with their explosive starts and quick-fire runs. But let’s not forget the pivotal role of middle-order batters. The recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy has underscored this with top 5 run-getters from the middle order consistently delivering match-winning performances. Their adaptability, composure under pressure, and ability to anchor innings or accelerate in the death overs make them indispensable. Middle-order players are the backbone of a team’s stability and success, often steering the game when the openers fall early. A balanced team thrives not just on the starts but on how the middle-order shapes the innings. #Cricket #VijayHazareTrophy #MiddleOrderStrength #ConsistencyMatters #Teamwork

To the Cricket Association and governing bodies, ensure district-level and grassroots leagues, as well as local tournaments, provide fundamental facilities for players, including clean water and adequate drinking facilities, as a prerequisite for hosting cricket tournaments. While professional success and performance are vital, players' well-being and family take precedence, underscoring that esteemed cricketers' lives are more valuable than the sport itself. #avoid #cricketfever #cricketlovers #cricketnews #District #cricket #bcci #bcciindiancricket #AntiCorruptionMovement

Rugby fans are at the heart of the game, and Premiership Rugby understands the importance of keeping them informed and engaged. By releasing a half-season fixture, the league ensures that fans have enough information to plan their schedules, purchase tickets, and support their favourite teams during the critical early stages of the season. The half-season approach also allows Premiership Rugby to provide accurate match timings, avoiding last-minute changes that can disrupt fans’ plans. ECAL makes it easy for fans to sync to the calendar, engage and never miss a game. #ECAL #PremiershipRugby #EngagementTechnology #digitaltransformation #sportsmarketing #calendarmarketing

Sale FC Club Statement Sale FC and the undersigned Clubs of @National League 1 Rugby are collectively calling for a root and branch review. Independent of the current RFU Council, Board and Executive, into the governance, setup and the management of Rugby in England. Given the current state of the game and substantial challenges facing the sport we love, the National 1 Clubs believe there needs to be a wide-reaching review of how Rugby is organised in England including understanding whether the governance of the National side and Professional game needs to be fully split from the Semi-Pro and Amateur game. We believe that recent events have shown that change is required and that there have been major failures in governance and in leadership. The RFU Council and Board are complicit both in the lack of accountability and governance that the member clubs expect them to exercise, and, alongside the RFU leadership, in the lack of clarity and strategy for the development of rugby in England. We note that there will be an emergency meeting of the RFU Council on 18 December. We call upon the members of the RFU council to use this as an opportunity to instigate an independent review of the management of Rugby in England. The National 1 Clubs will act individually when it comes to arguing for or voting on any no-confidence motions that might arise either at that meeting or at any subsequent SGM of the RFU. Blackheath Rugby, Darlington Mowden Park RFC, Dings Crusaders RFC, Esher Rugby, Leicester Lions Rugby Club, Plymouth Albion RFC, @Rams RFC, Richmond FC, Rosslyn Park FC, Rotherham Titans RUFC, Sale FC, SEDGLEY PARK TIGERS RUFC.
