Helping Students & Young Pros Build Standout LinkedIn Profiles | 3x Internship Offers in 1 Month| R Programmer| Empowering 1M+ to Live Their Dreams

An expert once said: “Your career doesn’t start when you land your first job/internship —it starts the moment you start preparing for it.” I remember sitting across and listening from a seasoned recruiter, notepad in hand, famishing to soak up every bit of wisdom. The room was packed with undergrads, all of us wondering what the future held after uni😅. Here’s what he had to say: -Don’t overlook soft skills. This might sound like a cliché, but it’s the reality. Communication and adaptability are just as important as technical skills. These are the qualities that help you stand out. -Your LinkedIn profile is your handshake. Well, to me, that was expected actually. He suggested we make it memorable with a strong headline and a story-driven summary. Most recruiters nowadays used that in finding top applicants for job roles. - Internships aren’t just about experience (or taking daily pictures 🌝). I’m not against taking pictures at workplace all the time😅 - i do that often too. However, he detailed the real essence of internships; which is about building connections and showing you’re willingness to learn. After hearing all this, It got me thinking about how many of us students don’t realize the power and mandate we have to shape our future early on. Well maybe, some are waiting for the right time or the perfect opportunity to act. However, the sad truth is, every moment is a chance to build the foundation for your career- make today count. Waiting for the right time or perfect opportunity to act is not bad at all. But what do you do in that time gap! The building of one’s value is a daily task. I’m so glad you shared this Nicholas Gyimah !!

Thanks for sharing this Nicholas Gyimah Truly almost everyone wait for the right moment to act, but what you do while waiting is what put you on top and above all. Are you building yourself to provide value or be valuable? or you are just waiting because others wait? In another perspective, one of the best advice I have recieved from one of my coaches Abdul-Qadir Ali is that, start where you are and then level up to that very position or role you aspire. Sometimes your current situation won't get you there, but the little steps you take will pull the strings in getting you up there. Value every situation and work and yourself at any point in time. Avoid complains, and see the good. Be open to learning and never stop building!

As for dreams and aspirations, we all have them. Attaining those dreams is the main focus. Do not overlook the little chances you get along the way: Being it internship or voluntary services. They might be the visa to "dream come true" for you.
