Luminate's 2024 Midyear Report is out, and I love seeing this slide. In short, the opportunity for independently distributed artists to gain large streaming volumes is growing - Independent artists with 1M-10M streams YTD - ⬆ 0.6 pts Independent artists with 10M-50M streams YTD - ⬆ 2.3 pts (now almost 40% of artists in this tier!) Independent artists with 50M-100M streams YTD - ⬆ 1.8 pts Independent artists with 100M-500M streams YTD - ⬆ 1.4 pts Independent artists with 500M+ streams YTD - ⬆ 2.7 pts With more competition from independently distributed artists, and those indies actually creating more sustainable revenue streams for themselves, I think we're going to see positive effects on not only the industry but on art as a whole. Which is especially important given we've reached a point where I think we need to support, protect, and value human artistry more than ever. And with all of this, comes even more of a need for artists and the teams around them to gain a better understanding into how they can drive this consumption, which is a good reminder on why we're doing what we do at Immensity.ai Kudos to Jaime Marconette and the whole Luminate team for yet another amazing report!! #musicindustry #musicstreaming

Spotlight on Alessi Rose: An Emerging Artist Redefining Success What Alessi Rose has achieved in just a few months is nothing short of extraordinary for an artist at her stage. - Critical Acclaim: She became the first artist to earn a 10/10 review from under the radar. This milestone cements her as a standout talent in a competitive field. - Streaming Success: Her single, ‘oh my’, has amassed an incredible 1.6 million streams in just two months—testament to her growing global reach and resonance. - Tour Success: Her upcoming headline tour sold out 10,000 tickets in under 10 minutes—a feat most established artists can only dream of. The demand was so overwhelming that she upgraded venues, including Bristol’s show, which now takes place at the iconic O2 Academy, where Gracie Abrams performed last year. Alessi’s rapid rise is no accident. Her team’s strategic approach to crafting authentic, relatable music paired with dynamic marketing has built an audience that not only listens but truly connects. With a focus on expanding the audience to the US to reach Gracie-like fans worked a charm, which many artists her level struggle to do in just one country. With momentum like this, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Alessi Rose headlining stadiums by this time next year. I partner with labels and management teams to spotlight emerging talent like Alessi, helping artists connect with new audiences and drive measurable growth. If you’re looking for creative ways to elevate your roster, drop me a message, and let's give your artist the impact their music deserves 🤝 #musicindustry #strategy #consultancy #universal #warner

Welcome back 360 major label artist deals.... In 2006 I joined Warner Music Group as part of an acquisition spree to turn the company (then in the doldrums of piracy riddled industry) into a full 360 solution for artists. Then of course streaming came along and most major labels forgot about that strategy. Now, 18 years on, as streaming flattens out - LOOK WHAT IS BACK! This slide is from Universal Music Group's Capital Markets Day deck (which you can find here: https://lnkd.in/eEGbxSkz) So, if you are an artist considering signing to Universal.....get ready for another rights land grab as they look to secure merch and direct to fan rights. But in a world where the "Why?" of a major label is under review - will any artist with leverage actually do this? Why would they be a better solution vs. leaning into (say) Spotify or TikTok's D2C fan tools? Or any of the other start up super fan solutions? We'll watch with interest.

Today we’re highlighting a past project: the Warner Music Group platform 🎶 WMG, as one of the three biggest music forces in the world, wanted to help artists achieve long-term creative and financial success while providing customers with the highest quality music content available. To support this mission, we created the data-driven platform OPUS, which unifies different tools and data sources, ultimately giving managers more time to devote to their artists within one application. OPUS allows the WMG teams discover what types of music resonate with which audiences, compare performance across different platforms, analyze to which playlists an artist is added and how that will influence discovery of that artist, and more.
