We touched on Clarified cocktails when we posted Punches earlier this year but this month is solely devoted to Clarifications. It's an extra step in the process but the result is a silky mouthfeel AND being able to batch cocktails that are fridge-stable so you can make a big batch, bottle it and drink them all week. A simple cocktail made magnificent with milk! 8oz Gin 3oz Lime juice 3oz Simple syrup (1:1) Handful of Mint 2-3 Slices of Cucumber 3.5oz Whole Milk In a container, muddle mint, one slice of cucumber, lime and simple. When combined add gin and ice. Stir until well combined. Use a pitcher and add the cold milk. Add the cocktail to the pitcher of milk, NOT the other way around. Place in the fridge for a few hours or overnight. Strain through a coffee filter and your cocktail will come out clear, silky, and richly complex despite being being just a few ingredients. It’s all well and good knowing how to drink whisky, but how do you store it? Here’s what you can do to make sure that exceptional bottle which has been sitting patiently in the cabinet all this time is best prepared for the momentous moment of opening… 1️⃣ Keep the bottles upright Make sure your whisky stands tall. Whisky bottles should never be stored on their side, they should always be kept upright. 2️⃣ Avoid direct light Always store your whisky away from direct sunlight. Over time the sun’s rays can potentially deteriorate the condition of a whisky, as well as cause the label to fade. 3️⃣ Stable Temperature: Maintain a consistent temperature, ideally between 15-20°C (59-68°F). 4️⃣ Avoid humidity If whisky gets hot it can expand the bottle and damage the cork seal. Keep your bottles in a dry, cool place. 5️⃣  Keep sealed once opened: Once you’ve started a bottle of whisky, store it in a sealed container to avoid it being exposed to oxygen. Happy Friday - Here's a recipe for Property Management Iced Tea to start your weekend: Ingredients: 1/2 oz Vodka (representing those endless phone calls) 1/2 oz Rum (for dealing with unexpected repairs) 1/2 oz Tequila (because why not, it's been that kind of week) 1/2 oz Gin (to smooth out the rough resident interactions) 1/2 oz Triple sec (for a sweet end to the week) A splash of cola (just a dash of normalcy) A squeeze of fresh lemon (to cut through the week's stress) Instructions: Fill a shaker with ice and pour in the vodka, rum, tequila, gin, and triple sec. These red, white, and blue Bomb Pop cocktails are sure to do the trick! 🇺🇸 INGREDIENTS -2 ounces grenadine divided -Small ice -½ cup Lemonade divided -6 ounces Vodka -blue food-safe coloring INSTRUCTIONS: RED LAYER: 1. Add 1 ounce of grenadine into each glass WHITE LAYER: 1. Carefully fill glass with ice leaving about 1 inch at the top 2. Mix ½ cup of lemonade with 3 ounces vodka 3. Slowly pour half into each glass, over the back of a spoon BLUE LAYER: 1. Mix 2 ounces vodka with 1 drop of food-safe blue coloring, and slowly pour over the back of a spoon 2. The Daiquiri cocktail is named after the town it originated from in cuba🍹🎯  🍹 Daiquiri Glass: Chilled coupe glass 🍋 Ingredients: White Rum: 60 ml Fresh Lime Juice: 30 ml Simple Syrup: 15 ml (adjust sweetness to taste) 🔧 Method: Mix: In a shaker, combine 50 ml of white rum, 25 ml of fresh lime juice, and 15 ml of simple syrup. Shake: Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously until well chilled. Strain: Strain the mixture into a chilled coupe glass to keep out the ice. Garnish: Optionally, you can garnish with a lime wheel or a thin lime twist for a touch of elegance.
