🚨 Super excited to be chairing the UK CO2 storage regulations session at #CCUS2024 in London this week! 🚨 Developing fit-for-purpose storage regulation and permitting is absolutely critical to the successful deployment of CCUS. The UK North Sea boasts some of the most stringent and transparent regulations globally, and balancing effective oversight with the need to accelerate storage development is no small feat. During the session, we’ll dive into the regulatory landscape for CO2 storage, discussing the progression of a site through four key early phases: appraise, assess, define, and execute. We’ll explore the challenges faced by industry, regulators and government and discuss how we can all work together to overcome them. I'm thrilled to be joined by these incredible leaders from the regulatory, commercial and storage developer spaces: 🔹 Denise Moylan - CCS & Hydrogen Director, The Crown Estate 🔹 Alistair Macfarlane - UK Carbon Transport & Storage Manager, North Sea Transition Authority 🔹 Tutill David - Energy Transition Manager, Perenco CCS (Carbon Storage) CCS Looking forward to a great discussion on how we can advance the UK’s position as a leader in CO2 storage! #CCUS2024 #CO2Storage #EnergyTransition #Regulations #Sustainability #NetZero Carbon Capture and Storage Association | The Crown Estate | North Sea Transition Authority | Perenco CCS (Carbon Storage) | Carbon Catalyst Limited

Really looking forward to my first experience of the CCSA conference and the discussion we’ll be having on this panel. If your at the conference come along, there will be three different perspectives tackling our shared challenge.
