🎤 Quality audio can make or break a podcast. No matter how great your content is, poor audio can lose listeners. I've listened to some that still have the dogs barking, a kiddo interrupting, or email notifications dinging because they were using their computer's ambient microphone. Sometimes that helps add authenticity! But most of the time .... it's just a distraction to the true story. 🎧 Your digital audio workstation (DAW) can really help, even if you're working with a free one like Audacity or GarageBand. Cutting out those distractions will help listeners focus on the story but only IF the timing allows for it. Higher-end DAWs like Adobe Audition can actually take out the noise frequency of some distractions, too. What DAW do you use? I've used all three mentioned in this post. Is live viewership the most important part of a live stream? According to Russel Brunson, the answer is "no". The real value of doing a live show, as Brunson explains in his book Traffic Secrets, lies in post-production. As he explains in his chapter "Conversation Domination", he recommends structuring a live stream with clear distinct segments, where each one is designed to be repurposed into other formats later. Some segments Brunson recommends are: ◦ Monologue: Becomes your next podcast episode. ◦ How-to segment: Perfect for YouTube tutorials. ◦ Interactive Q&A: Short-form clips for Instagram or TikTok. Brunson’s approach reframes the purpose of doing a live stream—not just a way to broadcast a live event, but as a way to generate long-form content designed for editing and repurposing. It’s not just having the highest number of live viewers—it’s about filling a content calendar with authentic, community-driven material that keeps the conversation going well after the stream ends.
