If you're interested in professional wargaming, as a customer or practitioner, then do check out this podcast episode. The whole thing is worth listening to, but for me the main points are: - The language of professional wargaming, what should you call it, and how do you avoid all the connotations around existing terms. I like "immersive exercises" that was used in the conversion. - The importance of using the format to explore the consequences of decisions, rather than assuming that the parts of a system are fungible and that the outcome will remain the same. - An absolutely excellent point by Amal Ali on emphasising "Strategic Empathy", on understanding what you opponent might do. Such a glaring omission in strategic planning on some many contexts. And there's some great war stories too 🙂
