Still buzzing from last week’s AdColor event! It was like a reunion, seeing so many familiar faces and catching up with old friends and colleagues. Honestly, I left feeling inspired and a little wiser. The highlight? Hearing Dany Garcia speak, who was this year’s AdColor’s Beacon Award Winner. It wasn’t just inspiring—it was life-changing. I made sure to find her at the gala to tell her just that. Dany radiates this queen-like presence, commanding the room with both power and grace. She’s the definition of a badass boss. Years ago, I used to “borrow” traits from people I admired—bits and pieces of their personalities that I wanted to embody. Over time, those qualities became my own. Now? I’m working on channeling my inner “regal queen” with a side of bold confidence. Here are a few gems I took away from the event: #1 Clarity is power. In meetings, be as clear as possible. It earns respect and gets you heard. #2 Stay strategic, even if the door isn’t open. Dany’s story proves it—you can wait, watch, and then own the space. #3 Turn missed opportunities into wins. Sometimes, the comeback is stronger than the setback. #4 Be an athlete of life. Stay coachable and prioritize recovery, self-care, and growth. We often forget these as professional marketers. #5 The journey matters. It’s not just about the goal—it’s about the experiences along the way. #6 Invest in your preparation. Confidence comes from preparation. Show up ready to own ANY room. #7 Set your own standard. Even when people are cheering you on, remember this: your own validation is louder than their applause. #8 Silence the noise. Focus on what matters. Stay tuned into your own frequency. #9 Words are power. They’re your currency. Your thoughts? That’s pure gold. #10 Kindness counts. We can’t control the chaos, but we can control how we treat each other. #11 Dream big. Be bold.
