If you're doing New Product Development, and NOT considering Business Architecture as a part of the process... - How are you understanding and contextualizing requirements? - How are you uncovering existing capabilities and identifying gaps? - How are you understanding impacts of change when you introduce the product? - How are you finding affected stakeholders and proactively communicating with them? - How are you tracking value realization? ... and so much more! My goodness, it looks like we need an integrated solution, but how? That's where our guest Michael DeCamp CBA® comes in, featured on this week's What's Your Baseline? #podcast. Come join us!
Sometimes business is simple. But why does not everyone ask these questions? Is it because we don't want to be seen as "stupid" or is it because we don't actually know? If it is the latter, then I highly recommend to listen to our conversation with Michael DeCamp, with whom we are talking about Business Architecture as the "glue" between strategy and how things are run in an (IT) organization. And on top of it, he demonstrates this with the example of a new product that he is currently working on. Why do people sometimes "forget" to ask the simple questions? Are we all "too busy"? Or not *really* interested because it is "just work"? Or don't we know? Or is that "not my job"? Or is it because "that is the way we have done it in the past"/"how we do things over here"? I am always flabbergasted how a lot of people in business don't know why they are doing things and don't have the curiosity to find it out and articulate the result. This would make things so much more transparent and align people (and thereby making the project manager's life so much easier and reduce the risk of the project). The guest in the latest episode of the What's Your Baseline? podcast, Michael DeCamp, agrees and we are talking with him about how he applied Business Architecture to create that clarity in his projects - especially when his employer was building a new product and expanded their business model with it.
