Bad weather & a big freeze expected so please take care in your car ! How to drive in snow In short, our key tips for driving in snow are: Accelerate gently when moving off in snow, avoiding harsh speeds Start off in second gear using low revs, and ease your foot off the clutch gently Instead of using the brake pedal, cycle down the gears to use engine braking (you can tap the brake pedal lightly to make drivers behind aware that you’re slowing down) Leave plenty of room between your vehicle and the one in front Stay in a higher gear and avoid braking as much as you can Use your headlights in heavy snow If you do start skidding, stay calm, steer into the skid and avoid sudden movements like hitting the brakes If your driving an electric or hybrid car, adjust the regenerative braking to a lower setting

RAC ADVICE FOR NEXT FEW DAYS DRIVING Here are some tips for driving in icy conditions: Slow down: Drive slower than normal to give yourself more time to react. Increase following distance: Leave at least 10 seconds between you and the car in front. Avoid sudden actions: Brake, accelerate, and turn smoothly to avoid losing traction. Use your headlights: Low-beam headlights can improve visibility. Drive in a high gear: Use the highest gear possible without stalling to reduce wheelspin. Turn off cruise control: Cruise control can cause unexpected acceleration if your tires lose grip. Brake gently: Decelerate gradually by lifting off the accelerator early. Turn into the skid: If you skid, turn the wheel in the direction you're skidding to straighten the vehicle. Don't accelerate: Avoid increasing your speed while skidding. Use a de-icer spray: De-icer sprays can melt ice on contact without damaging your car. Drive smoothly: Keep all your maneuvers smooth, including steering, braking, accelerating, and changing gear.

It's worth noting that how often your air filter needs to be replaced can vary depending on a range of factors, including the make and model of your car, driving conditions and the type of air filter used. In general, it is recommended to replace the air filter every 12,000 to 15,000 miles, or as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.

🚗 Clutch Friction Mechanism: Smooth Gear Shifting Magic! The clutch is the superhero that helps us change gears in vehicles. Here’s how it works step by step: Connected to the Engine ⚙️ The clutch connects the engine to the gearbox, transferring power to the wheels. Friction Plates in Action 🧩 Inside the clutch are friction plates that press together to engage or disengage the engine's power. Press the Clutch Pedal 🦶 When you press the pedal, the friction plates separate, cutting the connection between the engine and gearbox. Change the Gear 🔄 With no power flow, gears shift smoothly without grinding or damage. Release the Pedal 🚀 The plates re-engage, reconnecting the engine’s power to the wheels for a smooth drive! It’s all about controlled friction and precise timing – the key to effortless driving! 🏎️ #AutomobileMechanics #ClutchFriction #HowCarsWork #VehicleTechnology #DrivingBasics
