“Digital twins have the potential to optimise the performance of our transport networks,” says Ryan Hood, our Digital Highways Leader. We’re proud to share our latest collaborative research with the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom and Connected Places Catapult: The Economic Benefits of Digital Twins for Integrated Transport Network Management. This report estimates that digital twins could unlock approximately £850 million (in present value based on 2010 prices) in benefits over the next decade by improving journey efficiency, reducing congestion, and enhancing emergency responses across various transport modes. Here it comes. The 5th COT Grant Call, scouting tech and solutions from beyond the built environment, but water and sustainable material sectors too.
Research and innovation are essential for the Built Environment (BE) sector to stay resilient and future-ready. Since 2017, the Cities of Tomorrow R&D (CoT) programme has been fostering innovation and empowering BE professionals to reshape the BE sector to address challenges such as climate change, ageing infrastructure and manpower productivity. The CoT has supported several projects including boosting productivity at PPVC fit-out factories through advanced robotics and automation (R&A) systems, as well as enabling a paradigm shift for cooling office buildings through the development of mixed-mode ventilation solutions for the tropics. 📢 We are therefore happy to announce the launch of the 5th CoT grant call! We’re at the ADEPT Live Labs 2 Expo on 17th April in Birmingham! 🚘 Live Labs 2 is a 3 year, £30 million, UK-wide programme that is leading the way on the decarbonisation of local highways infrastructure and assets. The 7 Live Labs 2 projects, headed by local authorities in partnership with the private sector and academia, will put decarbonisation at the heart of local roads strategy and management. The programme will run until March 2026 and is being funded by the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom and managed by ADEPT. This year’s event brings together those keen to accelerate this transformation to meet key climate commitments, ready to discuss innovation, services and technologies currently in development, and setting out priorities for the years to come. 🎯 Not only are we proud to be sponsoring the jam-packed Live Labs 2 Expo, but we’re thrilled that one of our own experts is speaking at the event - Romain Pison, Director of Decarbonisation.
