Turned off by green branding, turned on by green brands. 💪🟢 According to a recent Stonehaven report, as sustainability becomes a priority for more consumers, we are seeing the emergence of two distinct brand behaviours: 1️⃣ Surface-level sustainability branding 2️⃣ Genuine sustainability brand commitments With greenwashing on the rise, it's evident that customers are becoming more aware of the differences between surface-level vs. genuine sustainability. And the findings of the study clearly show that pursuing a window-dressing sustainability approach actually has a detrimental impact, with 51% of consumers saying they would be turned off by the brand completely. 🚮 Conversely, 47% of people say they would consider switching to a brand they haven’t tried before if it made genuine sustainability commitments. ✅ Sustainability buzzwords and taglines are no longer an option.
