I'm incredibly excited to share that my team, Ikigai, reached the national semi-finals of the AB InBev 100+ Challenge 2024! This was an amazing opportunity to put our skills to the test and develop a go-to-market (GTM) strategy for Budweiser Beats, their popular energy drink. We dove headfirst into this challenge, immersing ourselves in consumer research, market analysis, and competitive intelligence. We identified key innovative growth drivers. It was a whirlwind of brainstorming sessions, late nights fueled by caffeine (and maybe a few Beats!), and a constant drive to push the boundaries of what's possible. We challenged each other, debated ideas, and ultimately crafted a GTM strategy that we believe truly captured the essence of the Beats brand and its potential for growth. This journey was far from easy. We faced unexpected hurdles and moments of self-doubt, but we persevered, learning and growing stronger as a team with every obstacle we overcame. I'm so proud of the dedication, creativity, and resilience we demonstrated throughout this competition. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the incredible support system cheering us on. A huge thank you to our mentors, friends, and families for their unwavering belief in us. And to my amazing teammates Mylavarapu Asish, Srujan Reddy– you guys are rockstars! ✨ While we didn't quite make it to the finals, this experience was invaluable. This is long-due, finally getting a moment to reflect on my participation at the Digital Business Transformation Conference in Athens, hosted by BOUSSIAS Events on June 11th. Q&A alert! During my visit to China, I had the chance to see the Nestlé team’s great work and spend time with our employees – answering their questions and asking a few of my own. Here are three of my favorite questions from our Town Hall, and how I answered them (the bite-size version!) ❔ What makes a good #leader in a rapidly changing business landscape? ➡️ Leaders come in all shapes and sizes, so don't try to fit into someone else’s mold. In a fast-paced business environment, it's all about the future and speed. What I see from the strongest leaders is that they drive speed AND bring their team along. That means not running alone. Embrace your impatience to drive growth, but channel it to build a strong team and execute together. ❔ How do you balance standardization across business units, versus separate, tailored approaches? ➡️ Our top priority in consumer-facing spaces is to embrace the uniqueness and strength of each brand. Behind the curtain, we find opportunities to harmonize and capture advantages from our scale, while still preserving flexibility. ❔ We have seen huge progress in #AI, how should we contribute to future applications at Nestlé? ➡️ I am a strong believer in AI and in all the opportunities it offers across the entire value chain, from R&D to Sales. It’s about using support from AI technologies to make better and faster decisions. With this mindset, my ask to Nestlé employees is: Don't wait for some AI ‘expert' to tell you what to do. It’s up to all of us to evaluate how we can improve our work, in each of our specific roles, with AI-related tools. We already have some very exciting examples; let's do more.
