From my time working in government, I certainly understand the importance of media monitoring, and the companies that offer these services. Interestingly, section 183(1) of the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) has received limited consideration by courts prior to this case. In reviewing the statutory context of this section of the Act, Justice Burley provided some clarity on the phrase “for the services of the Commonwealth or State”. #copyright #mediamonitoring #intellectualproperty

At long last, Polish copyright law is now in line with the rest of the EU! Today, the major amendment to the Copyright Act comes into effect and implements the provisions of the DSM directive. So, from now on we are talking about TDMs, OCSSPs, press publishers’ rights and VOD platform obligations, but in local language and before local courts and regulators.
