I have completed the Global School on Refugee and Migrant Health through the World Health Organization in order to gain practical knowledge and insight into the healthcare and health outcomes of Refugee and Migrant populations on a global scale.

Misconceptions about refugees in the UK are widespread and often lead to harmful stereotypes, misunderstanding and prejudice. Here are some of the most common myths: 1️⃣Drain on Resources: Refugees contribute economically through work and taxes once settled. 2️⃣UK Takes More: The UK hosts far fewer refugees compared to many countries. 3️⃣Mostly Young Men: Refugees include men, women, and children from all backgrounds. 4️⃣Economic Benefits: Refugees flee persecution, not for economic gain. 5️⃣Increase Crime: No significant link between refugees and crime; they strive to rebuild their lives. 6️⃣Don’t Integrate: Refugees often work hard to learn English and contribute to society. 7️⃣Easy Asylum: The asylum process is lengthy and complex. 8️⃣Unskilled: Many refugees are educated professionals.
