I recently had the privilege of attending a guest lecture by Mathew Jonston on Monte Carlo simulation, which included a dynamic in-class activity using tennis balls. This engaging approach not only deepened my understanding of Monte Carlo Simulations but also demonstrated their application in quantitative risk assessments. We explored various scenarios and probabilities that these simulations generate, essential for effectively assessing and mitigating risks according to P50 and P90 probability thresholds. It was an enlightening experience that expanded my knowledge of how these tools function in real-world risk management. Special thanks to Paulo Vaz Serra for organizing this insightful session. It highlighted the significant impact of such analytical tools in risk mitigation and the importance of industry insights in our academic journey. #MonteCarloSimulation #RiskManagement #QuantitativeAnalysis #IndustryInsights
